sometimes he's an insensitive asshole
other times he's a really nice guy
and it's very inconsistent and the show never really reconciles the two
I mean really this is not that hard, at least give him SOME consistency instead of having it be totally arbitrary
with tendou he was an asshole around certain people and a nice guy around other certain people and occasionally he was both at once, so it wasn't hard to figure him out
even tachibana eventually settled into a relatively consistent personality of nice but practical that was simply punctuated by him being a failboat
...and while I'm on that subject, man but tachibana was the most failboat rider ever
let's see, what was his track record...
1: thinks he's dying. NOPE! turns out it was all in his head but he still can't get over the subconscious fear and therefore can't fight.
2: while trying to get over said fear, is tricked by peacock undead into getting hooked on nerve-frying drugs that increase his will to fight and thus change his personality
3: love of his life gets killed trying to help him
4: sees mutsuki pick up the leangle belt and FOR SOME UNFATHOMABLE REASON does not press the issue, instead spends a full episode loitering around cafe trying to find him
5: spends a good chunk of time attempting to help mutsuki and generally failing utterly at it
6: oh no, kenzaki's new king form will turn him into an undead eventually! helping hirose-papa with the artificial undead is a means to stop that, right? NOPE got tricked again it's actually all for evil.
7: but he can at least seal joker, right? right? NOPE because hajime was being adorable at a little girl and tachibana is a softy.
8: is actually successful at getting rid of undead but nearly gets self killed in the process.
he is a failboat. at least he's a CONSISTENT failboat, though.
he is a fail rider but at least he's consistently fail over the course of the show.
and tendou is consistent in when he's an asshole and when he's a decent guy, etc.
with tsukasa there is NO CONSISTENCY HERE, I cannot figure out what he wants or what he's trying to do
(and man I think tachibana even surpasses ryoutarou in failboating because at least ryoutarou has the imagin to make up for his fail)
