comes out upon the porch and glances at him. A guitar? She wonders if he can actually play.
ignores her as he starts to strum a little on the strings. He was decent at playing, all his years of practice had paid off.
leans against the door jam and listens as he plays, closing her eyes to focus just on the music.
starts playing faster, switching to a tarantella song he learned when he was really young.
twitches a bit. She doesn't want to show any enjoyment of the music, but she can't help but tap her foot.
glances over at her and smirks a little when he sees her tapping her foot. He keeps playing, enjoying it more when he had an audience.
can't help it, but slowly a smile appears on her face. She was pleased with his handling of the guitar, whether she'd admit it would be another thing.
starts humming along as he played, happy to have someone to play for again.
sighs happily, letting the sound of the guitar sooth her. She loses track of time as she listens.
sings with the guitar and feels happy for the first time in a while.
blinks, surprised to hear him actually sing. He has a nice voice, when he's not being irritable that is. After listening for a bit, she joins in, softly singing harmony with him.
notices and smiles, switching to a different song to see if she would know that one too.
stumbles a bit while recalling the tune, but soon remembers it and switches over to sing that song as well.
sings a bit more before laughing, missing a beat on the guitar.
laughs with him. "O-okay! I have to admit it after all, you're pretty good. Kinda."
smirks. "Heh, I'm out of practice, too. Haven't played in a while."
smiles. "Well, I look forward to hearing you when you've practiced more."
tilts his head. "I guess have a reason to practice again."
leans back against the door jam, "I wouldn't mind getting a chance to sing again."
starts to say something but decides against it and just stands up, starting to put his guitar away.
pouts a little, "Done already?"
laughs sheepishly. "I guess...?"
sighs, "All right." Her smile returns and she moves to take a seat on the porch, enjoying the fresh air.
watches her. "I know there's a restaurant that has tarantella if you still wanted to sing some more."
glances at him, "Really?" She blushes a little, "M-maybe... maybe someday."
nods. "Just tell the owner I sent you and he'll let you in free."
smirks at him, "Oh, you have a special connection? Can I get some free food there too~?"
laughs. "I don't know about that. I used to play guitar there so he'd let my friends in to watch."
leans her head in her hand, "Sounds nice. Any reason why you don't play there anymore?"
scratches the back of his head. "Ah... I used to go with my girlfriend and now... well, now I don't."
frowns at his reaction, and feels a bit bad for asking the question. "Oh... mi dispiace."
sighs and looks at his guitar. "She was from your world and I think... I think she went back."
looks aside, "I see..." She hasn't thought about that happening, not that she really thought about what would happen if she stayed in this world either, she was still getting used to the idea of this NOT being-
her world. "M-maybe she'll return someday."
nods. "Maybe..." He finishes packing up his guitar.
tries to turn her thoughts to something else. Tomatoes. Those were always worth thinking about! Her concentration on the thought shows on her face.
glances at her. She was making a strange face... He starts to laugh under his breath.
snaps out of her daze and whips her head around to look at him, "I need a tomato! Now!"
blinks in surprise, starting to get a little scared. "U-uh... okay? There's some in the kitchen?"
pouts again. She was hoping he'd get her one. "Fine." She stands up and straightens her skirt, "All this chatting has made me hungry." She heads inside to grab a tomato.
follows her in with his guitar in hand.
quickly grabs a tomato and starts to nibble on it. "Do you want one too?" She was starting to get used to sharing the house.
blinks over at her and nods. "Sure..." He would never turn down a tomato.
hands one over to him, as if she had grown them herself, though that certainly wasn't the case. "Enjoy."
calmed down as she ate the tomato. "So... if I'm staying here I should probably find a way to earn my keep, right?"
blinks in surprise. "Eh?" He shrugs. "If you want to... not like my brothers ever pulled their weight..."
shakes her head, "Useless men! Can't expect them to do anything!"
starts to laugh until he remembers that he's a guy. "H-hey! We can do stuff..."
rolls his eyes. "It's just my useless brothers who can't."
about it, "I suppose... my sisters are pretty useless too."
smirks. "See? Girls can be good for nothing too."
frowns, "W-well, not me! I can do anything if I want!"
finishes his tomato. "I never said you couldn't."
blinks as he says that and quiets down, "Oh..." She glances at the wall, "Well, I'll try to help keep things tidy... and... stuff..."
shrugs. "Only if you want..."
nods once, then quickly finishes off her tomato, smiling at its tartness.
knows she can't be his counterpart now. She offered to clean and was now smiling at the thought...
really doesn't like cleaning that much, she just feels the need to do something. "...do you grow these yourself?"
shakes his head. He was too lazy to grow his own. "No, there's a market nearby that has a lot of good, fresh food."
tilts her head, "Oh. I would have thought you'd grow your own."
shrugs. "I could if I wanted to, I guess..."
looks him over, "You're sure you're South Italy?"
crosses his arms, puffing out his cheeks. "Of course I am."
shrugs, "I'm not sure I believe you."
huffs. "F-fine! I don't care if you believe me or not!"
smirks, deciding it's fun to get a rise out of him. "Maybe you can prove it to me."
makes a sound of annoyance. "Oh? And how can I do that?"
for a bit. "How about... What did you tell Spain when sh- er, when... he found your bed wet?"
blinks in surprise and sputters a little. "H-hey! I wouldn't I mean I... D-dammit! It was a squirrel!"
narrows his eyes at her. "H-how did you know about the squirrel...?"[
glances at him, "T-that's what I said too."
..."Y-you had a squirrel wet your bed, too?"
looks away, blushing a little in embarrassment, "Si... it was rather terrible. Those damn squirrels..."
"Tch, must have been some sort of squirrel plague.."
nods, "Y-yeah, that has to be it!" She smiles nervously.
scratches the back of his head nervously. "Yeah..."
"Shit... then that means..."
blinks at her, thinking slower. "Means what?"
takes a seat, "I mean, no one besides us had trouble with... squirrels." It was proof enough for her, but still hard to swallow.
looks at him a little exasperated, "No one besides South Italy had trouble with squirrels!"
frowns. "S-so... you're South Italy?"
"Didn't I say that before?!"
"Tch, I just thought you were Seborga and trying to mess with me..."
pouts, "I'm definitely not Seborga, dammit!"
sighs. "Yeah... you're not as weird..."
huffs proudly, "Damn right I'm not as weird! I don't cover myself with condiments!"
gasps. "Yours does that too?"
nods, "Sì! It's so annoying and an insult to good food!"
scoffs. "I don't know why he insists on obsessing over the disgusting stuff..."
shudders. "I know, she just makes a complete mess with it!"
"It's like he does it just to annoy me, dammit!!"
"That must be it!" She sighs, "It's like she's just trying to get a rise out of everyone."
nods. "That's the only explanation."
pouts, "Why do we have such useless siblings?"
sighs. "I have no damn idea..."
pretty useless as well. "Oh well. Just have to try to keep them in line as the elder sibling."
nods in agreement. "Keeping them in line takes up most of my time." He was probably just as useless as his siblings if not more so.
"Yeah, I don't know what they'd do without us..." This was getting a bit awkward now.
fidgets a little before putting his guitar away in the living room.
sighs, "I wish they were here."
pauses before nodding. "Yeah.. It's been too quiet."
frowns, feeling a bit lonely, "I wonder where everyone is."
shrugs sadly. "I don't know..."
tries to smile a little, "At least we can keep each other company a little."
"Just don't act like Seborga and it'll be fine."
nods before laughing. "Like I could even act that crazy..."
"Heh, I suppose not." She yawns and stretches.
watches her before blushing. "Ah, sorry... I didn't mean to keep you up..."
rubs her head, "Ah, no, it's okay. I'm feeling a bit better now after talking."
tilts his head. He didn't see how talking helped anything but if she felt better he wasn't going to complain.
won't mention that she was kind of afraid they wouldn't get along. "It is kind of late though."
nods. "You should get some sleep then."
nods in return, "Yeah, I think I will. Buona notte~"
smiles at her. "Buona notte."
heads off to ready herself for sleeping, then snuggles into the warm bed and quickly drifts off to sleep.
