and yes I am going to start using plurk again
HI GUYS WHO REMEMBERS WHO I AM \o/
anyway. people apparently complained about the plot in the super hero taisen movie and idk why because who looks for PLOT in these things??
I'm just in it for the epic crossover meetups
and that was part of it too but hnnngh feels so many joe feels
wait why would you want PLOT in a KR/sentai movie
if you're not a gokaiger fan I can see why you would complain but I have biases so I was totally fine with joe taking up 1/3 of the screen time
...there are people who aren't Gokaiger fans?
these people just sound WEIRD
basically the premise was that marvelous and tsukasa teamed up with dai-zangyack and dai-shocker, respectively, and decide everyone needs to be enemies
ew wait it's Decade-based?
I actually didn't mind that much
you haven't actually seen Decade though
partly because tsukasa's actor was hamming it up playing a villainous role
oh well in that case it might be entertaining
and a good part of the movie was just joe and kaito running around trying to figure out what the hell is going on while doc and hina do damage control
it was actually rather entertaining watching the decade guys because I know nothing about decade but you put tsukasa and kaito in the same room and you can FEEL that they have a history
a History. with a capital H.
Kaito is soooooooo much more fun though.
so joe's running around trying to figure out why his captain has seemingly betrayed them and why they have to fight the riders, AND dealing with the fact that luka and ahim are seemingly dead
(spoilers they're still alive)
(if they killed Luka and Ahim there would be an uprising.)
really, the writers have been abusing poor joe ever since they found out that the actor is really good at the crying scenes
...and omg wait what they start with Marvelous betraying joe?
and this carries over into the movie.
except it's obviously a lie
WELL THAT WILL LEAD TO FEELINGS
but I can forgive joe for not figuring this out because he is not exactly in a rational state of mind after that happens
but spoilers it's actually all a ruse by marvelous and tsukasa
and I feel no shame in spoiling this because it's obvious just looking at marvelous
he's all SERIOUS all the time, I think the first time he smiles is when they reveal it was a trick the whole time
...yeah that would be kind of obvious.
except joe kind of has a mental breakdown during all this so he can be forgiven for not realizing
and then when they reveal it's all a ruse his response to marvelous is basically a good-natured "you're an asshole, you know that"
whereas kaito is pretty subdued during the whole thing when it seems like tsukasa is teaming up with dai-shocker
Marvelous better apologize to him :<
but then when he finds out it's all a trick and tsukasa didn't even let him in on it, THAT'S when he kind of loses it.
so it was kind of funny to look at the two opposite reactions to the same thing.
......I do not properly recall the marriage status of Tsukasa and Kaito
I'm pretty sure they're not very married at all.
so he was probably just ticked nobody told him the trick :<
I might have to watch decade JUST for kaito even though I can't stand the premise
and the female lead's constant zettai ryouiki
plus, I have to admit, part of the fun watching tsukasa was because of his RIDICULOUS hairstyle that makes it impossible to take him seriously
and he gets attacked by the imagin when they visit Den-O |D
his hairstyle in the movie was this bizarre poodle thing
also I find it kind of hilarious that hina actually featured more than eiji did
she joined in the fight by picking up big heavy things and throwing them at mooks.
kaito was about to leave because it's not his problem but then hina runs in and joins the fray and so kaito is like SIIIGH guess I can't leave her alone then
I do enjoy it when the girl can't transform but still fights even so. it adds awesome points.
and doc didn't actually do much of anything but his presence was appreciated because he kept joe from breaking the ship and/or kaito
thinking about it, the only real complaint I would have is that fourze and go-busters got comparatively little screen time when the trailers made it seem like they would play a big part
I couldn't even tell when in the fourze timeline it takes place, they left that ambiguous
there was a moment where fourze and meteor were all buddy-buddy but they never refer to each other by real name or see each other untransformed so I couldn't tell when it took place story-wise
so that was kind of annoying because I spent the time they were on screen trying to figure out if fourze already knew about meteor being ryusei or not.
