美國政府昨天正式宣布，將台灣列入美國免簽證計畫（ＶＷＰ），新制預計下月就能上路。持有效期六個月以上晶片護照免簽計畫國家公民，若有意赴美短期旅遊、經商，只需在入境美國前七十二小時上網填寫已提供中文版本的ＥＳＴＡ表格。

表格內容較一般簽證簡單，只需五到十分鐘就能完成；經線上審核通過後，再以信用卡支付十四美元手續費，即正式完成申請。申請ＥＳＴＡ獲准後，兩年之內可無限次入境美國，單次最長可停留九十天。
