Dude. What's going on?

BS from putting the house back together after the fire made us cancel a river trip for this weekend. They didn't cry or pitch fits....

just had to watch the disappointment form in their eyes and faces as they took in the news. What made it bad was the situation changed after

they went to bed last night, so they got the news first thing this morning that we weren't leaving this afternoon as planned.

That sucks.

That sucks. But if parenting was easy everyone would want to do it.

Kids are more resiliant than you think, they'll be ok. But I feel you, I hate telling Steph bad news.

It's for the better though. They're going to have to get used to it because life isn't all subshine, lollipops and rainbows.

Learning that "stuff happens" is definitely a life skill. No fun, but things are what they are. Bummer about the trip, though.
