when flash drives will be given away in cereal and Cracker Jax boxes. A 32GB one is 1/2 the cost of a 1 GB when they first came out.

I just saw a loose discount bin of 8 and 16 GB ones in the store the other day. The same cutout bins you used to find $3 cassettes in.

that given the decline in the quality of Cracker Jack and cereal prizes, it could be a while.

storage capacity follows a Moore's Law progression - doubling approximately every couple of years. Fortunately the cost per unit doesn't.

Sandisk or someone recently came up with a way to pretty much triple a flash drive capacity, so all the "smaller" ones are going for cheap
