Wow. Oil looked really good for 9000 miles since last change. Still pretty light colored & easy flowing.

Well, it's been almost exclusively highway & I was going by the car's oil life indicator.

ahh, okay. Our new car has that, but not the vehicle that hit 3k in 9 months (LOL)

Plus I use good quality synthetic, which can handle that kind of mileage pretty easily.

Even regular oil should go 5000 w/o too much trouble these days.

Unless you're racing or hardcore off-roading no need to change at 3000 the vast majority of the time.

Just check the level periodically & top off, if necessary.

We're closer to getting 3mos than 3000 miles (LOL)

We've had the car for 4 years and only gone about 18k miles and that includes 2 trips to Indiana from Kansas.

Wow. Not exactly piling the miles on the TB, eh. We've put 50k on our newer car in 2 years.

However now that I've fixed up our older car, I've been making a point to try to use it more.

Even if that means having to change its oil more than once/yr. ;-)
