Because I would totally be up for that right now.
That one you just linked! Only saw it after hitting enter. Aaa it is so cool.
I just found it and watched all seven videos straight.
It is all just James Nesbitt plus gorgeous British men, basically.
so many gorgeous British men.
I recommend these videos to anyone who is in a place they can get away with making high-pitched embarressing noises.
Because that's what I did. XD
THORIN OAKENSHIELD. NUFF SAID.
basically yeah this is my way of saying I am very up for discussing this upcoming movie
I CAN'T WAIT. ALL THE DWARVES.
Aaaaaaaaaaa, this is going to be so amazing!!!! HOBBIT, YESSSSSS.
I was sad to hear that Smaug doesn't feature until the second film.
But I think I can be comforted by the overwhelming presence of Bilbo! I loved him in LOTR before I even read The Hobbit. XD
I read the Hobbit first, so I remember when I read LotR the first time I was SO PISSED when it dawned on me (in like chapter two) that
he was not going to be the main character anymore!
I was like 12 at the time. I was shaking in fury and being upset!
I WANTED MY FUCKING BILBO BAGGINS NONE OF THIS STUPID FRODO NONSENSE
but of course I pretty well fell in love with Frodo too :3
Haha, I can totally understand that. Bilbo is the best.
I still think Frodo is a lot more emo that stoic Bilbo, tbh.
I think that if we had taken Sam out of LOTR, Frodo would have died but Bilbo would totally have been successful anyway.
Also Martin Freeman is perfect.
well, I think young Bilbo, yes! Old Bilbo who had been living with the ring for all those years and who had become creepily attached
couldn't do it, but I think I totally agree that if only Gandalf had figured out what the ring was early, and sent Bilbo off on that
sort of adventure right after the Smaug thing, well. IT WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN MUCH OF A STORY IT WOULD HAVE WENT PRETTY SMOOTH.
Oh, yeah, of course. And I think (or maybe I just hope) that Bilbo wouldn't have been so broken as Frodo was afterwards.
I PRETTY MUCH THINK MARTIN FREEMAN WILL BE A PERFECT BILBO
That was the saddest ending ever. I still don't understand why Sam didn't go with him.
I PERSONALLY THINK MARTIN FREEMAN IS PERFECT AT ANYTHING, JUST SAYING.
I understood why Sam didn't go but I am glad that Sam went later on, when he was old.
Yeah, I know, but it wasn't the same.
Sam DID want to go, but Frodo absolutely forbid him to, so I feel like Sam felt he had no choice but to stay.
They were my first slash ship, so at the time I was accepting no reasons.
I felt like the whole idea of Rosie was overdone. Look at your life, Sam. Look at your choices. Who are you really in love with here??
Ahaha I shipped them too! But this was way before the internet and I didn't know what slash or shipping even was!
All I knew was that I had all these squirmy funny feelings during the scene in the tower in Mordor when Frodo was naked and Sam was
cuddling his broken, abused body and singing to him
And even before that when Frodo went up against Sh... Shelob? Shelorb? And then Sam found him and thought he was dead and it was so TRAGIC
OH I KNOW. THE STUFF AT THE END OF BOOK TWO.
And all the stuff crawling through Mordor ;;__;;
AND THEN SAM CARRIED HIM.
Pretty sure my copy is tearstained. :/
MY SECOND LOTR SLASH SHIP FARED MUCH BETTER
Nuuuu, silly! Legolas/Aragorn!
Actually, Aragorn/everyone, if I'm honest.
Legolas/Gimli are just so good though!
I think I was too young at the time to really get that their snarkiness was love. And then I got attached to the Strider.
Speaking of... do you remember if he appeared in The Hobbit?
Strider doesn't. There is a pretty impressive human in that story but he's just like the leader of the town near where Smaug lives
Damn. Mortenson had magical eyes.
The Hobbit was initially written as a stand-alone story, something for Tolkien's kids, but then he got wrapped up in the world
and wrote LotR. I think he might have included more of those LotR characters if he had planned it to be a sequel from the beginning
that would have been so cool!
Bahahahaha! Wait, this story is now five hundred thousand words, sorry kids.
I am pretty sure that the movies are going to bend Hobbit canon some, so there's a good chance you'll see him in the battle of five armies
FULL ON STRIDER MODE PROBABLY
Like I am sure they're involving Sauramon in this movie sequence AND HE SURE AS HELL IS NOT IN THE BOOKS
Hahaha, did you see Saruman's appearance in the production video?
I almost fell out of my chair!
nope! I haven't watched any of those videos you linked yet, I am saving them :3
BUT I WILL FALL OUT OF MY CHAIR IN DUE COURSE I AM SURE
(hey hey this is a bit ot but you haven't been around so I wanna know if it's okay to ask how you felt about the House finale!)
I am still just faintly disappointed that they've found the most gorgeous northern men they could find, and
then just hidden them all behind beards.
I AM PRO BEARDS SO I CAN'T REALLY COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT
I like beards, but I like faces too! There is not a lot of balance here.
(From a Watsonian perspective, I loved almost every second. From a Doylian one, I think it was weak, baasically.)
WELL I AM SURE IN ALL THE MOVIE INTERVIEWS THE ACTORS WILL BE BEARDLESS
so you will (indirectly) get your fill??
Oh, I am going to watch the shit out of those interviews!
Given the combinations, I have much more love for the actors than the characters right now.
(I completely understand the Watsonian/Doylian dichotomy there... I heard about how it ended, it seemed like it would satisfy you in
some ways but not in others XDD)
(in essence, the problem was that they never actually convinced me of the premise of those last four episodes.)
(plus I never stopped hating Stacey, so I didn't like that she was back.)
(see I don't even know who that is, and by the premise I assume you mean THE THING THAT HAPPENS TO WILSON and yeah I can see that too!)
(more like Wilson's reaction to The Thing That Happens. I still don't believe he'd really do that.)
You know, Imma just make us a new plurk.
