yah...I don't remember getting ANY college mail.

the college mail flood has grown since her own 20+ years ago.

heard a statistic yesterday. This small college here has a budget of about $250,000 for mailings.

That is for about 1500 applications.

so, would you rather have all those fancy brochures, or should the colleges all just send you $150 in the mail and you can do your own

research

Now, we may not be the statistical average here, since we have some unique features to explain to our applicants

("all boys huh? So why would I want that again?")

would definitely take the cash!!

or even split the difference- cut the mailings budget in half and then don't charge an application fee!

We encountered app fees ranging from $30- $70 a piece this year. WarHammer applied to 8 schools - that gets expensive!!

I think we charge over a hundred.

I guess we call it a deposit, so it is not just a fee
