so if I have a Mac, can I not read/transfer any of my external hard drives that are formatted in NTFS? :/

you could partition a hdd to fat32/hfs+
kehrol says

fat32 can take up to 4gb per file size, so should work fine for you

Ooh ok as long as got utilities to write should be fine! But I can't do fat32 now cos all my HDDs are NTFS now lol

hahaha see, this is my dilemma. my bro (on windows) uses my external HDDs too. and need to read/write/transfer
Clem says

not sure whether windows can read/write/transfer on mac's uh, formatted system or not
kehrol says

that's why i would suggest partitioning :-D
