J: I got to talk to Daddy and Papa today, which was awesome. Filled all of my orders at the seam shop. And we found a whole new section

of town today.

Ooooh...what town do you live in?

J: We're in Manhattan. But it's not exactly like you'd know it to be. World War III tore it all apart.

World War 3...?

J: (nods) I'm from 2044. The war ran from 2033-2043. America and Russia had a big falling out and just... Everything went to hell.

Oh shit...WHAT HAPPENED TO BROADWAY?!

J: (giggles) Broadway is still partially intact. The Nederlander, at least, remains. We put on shows when we have enough people to.

OHTHANKGOD...I mean...and the rest of the world?

J: (giggles) I take it you love Broadway. The rest of the world... Some is intact, some not. Everyone's affected.

J: The population is probably a quarter of what it was before? Maybe 2 billion people left. I think that's what Papa said it was last.

Wow. Time to get busy.

J: (blushes) Get busy?

Repopulating? Of course it could of happened because the earth could not viably hold a population of that size.

J: We're um. I don't. I think people other places are working on repopulating? (blushes more)

J: (giggles) Julie Andrews is a sweetheart.

I have normal hair. I got my hair cut and my son tells me I look like a boy now.

J: (giggles) I'm glad you like my hair. (brow furrows) Short hair doesn't make you look like a boy...

(plays with her hair)

When you are 7 apparently it does.

J: (grins) It's prettiest with a few braids. (hums) 7? So little.

(starts braiding her hair)

J: (beams) I'm terrible at braiding. (makes a face)C

He's really big for his age though. The Dr. Says he's going to be 6'4"

J: Oh god, so tall. I'm only 5'4"

J: (giggles) I'm short.

J: (giggles, brushes her hair back) Thank you! God, this'll be so much easier on stage.

J: (hums quietly, swings her head back and forth a couple times) Awesome! You're really good with hair.

I like helping out in the costume and makeup department. (beams)

J: (grins) I love costuming. I'm terrible with my makeup though.

I like picking costumes. I LOOOOOOVE makeup :3

I'm horrible with make up.

I was too, but then people taught me ^_^

J: I'm the top seamstress in the city now, so I make a lot of things for people. Lots of clothes. I'm just lazy with makeup.

J: (beams) Thank you! It was something I learned to be good at. We needed seamstresses.

Did you make what you're wearing?

tee hee that's how I learned too. Necessity is the mother of all good things...right?

J: (nods) I did make what I'm wearing. (smiles) Finding scraps of cloth, putting them together. And I'd have to agree. I learned to

cook out of necessity too.

I used to cook a lot too. I miss those days.

J: Me, daddy, and papa switch up night by night.

I see...

J: (nods) Daddy's a psychologist now for the ones who're left, and Papa works at one of the newspapers.

They still have newspapers?

J: (nods) Best form of communication now. Manhattan only has power once and a while. We handprint papers.s

J: A lot of the progress of the last 50 years was lost in the war.

that makes sense

J: (nods, smiles)

It will get better though. Once a new generation was born that does not remember the war there will be a spike back in technology.

J: When we finish restoring things and stuff like that, I hope it picks up... I mean, I love where we are, but. I miss things.

It will, if the history of human kind teaches us anything. As long as the powers of be are willing and able to accept change.

J: (smiles) True, very true.

Um...How is the government?

J: Um... From what Papa said last, the government's not doing so great... Grandpapa got president, but there's a lot of rebellion.

Well that can sometimes be a good thing. Rebellion can mean that people are still intrested in goverment. Or that people are intrested in

taking over.

J: True, very true. I hope it's not a bad thing.

I wouldn't know how to react in a real rebellion. I'm the one who sits around and writes about the rebellions from a safe distance.

J: (giggles) Most of the ones who are left were the same way.

I guess it says something about survival instinct?

J: I'm guessing so, yeah. It's kinda funny.

I agree with that. Humans are interesting creatures.

J: They are, definitely. It's weird, I'm the youngest one around her, but like. You'd never know.

tee hee. How old are you?

J: I'm only 17. Closest to me is 19, just a little over a full year older than me.

That's not that bad.
