In other news, hi everyone. (Though a good lot of you are asleep or will otherwise ignore this)
/neither asleep, nor ignoring
I'm doing all right. How are you, besides the class thing?
It is. I'm going to have to make up the units over the summer with an online class, which I already signed up for
I found out today that we're moving in June, not July.
Yay for more space, boo for thinking I had more time to save up for SDCC
Ohhh, I guess that kind of evens itself out
All of my finals will be done as of Thursday so.
A bit! I just have to figure out how I'm gonna save up $150.
cut corners here and there?
and... idk get a loan from a rich friend?
Haha. Step one: find rich friend!
Cutting corners will probably happen.
But I also need new bras (thanks, body)
ughhhh GOOD bras are so expensive
Like you can get ones for cheap
but they're shit and break easily and just ugh
or you can get ridiculously expensive ones that actually... work
Though
atomiclemon pointed me to an awesome site where they are not awfully expensive
or cheaply made, it seems
Some of the patterns are slightly terrifying?
but they have wide straps which I actually like since it helps with all the other stress my back is under
I can never order stuff online though
I think I'm just weird shaped
I haven't tried, and I figure 90 days is a good window to figure out if they fit or not.
Usually the only thing I buy online clothes-wise are stockings, shoes, and t-shirts haha.
I can buy dresses sometimes! But otherwise I stick to stores
just because I usually buy kinda sack like dresses
I want to try getting more vintage/rockabilly type dresses
buying them online is like the best option tbh
unless you wanna go to... god what is that store called
it's US only and SUPER SUPER EXPENSIVE but it has really cute stuff
there's the bettie paige store but most of their stuff is polyester
anyway, your look will def look adorable with those sorts of dresses
I went in there with my mom in Vegas (Anthropologie) and she had immediate sticker shock
also I need to lose like 30lbs to fit anything even on their large end
their stuff is made for... people without substantial hips at least
I swear to god I had an existential crisis in the fitting room there
"THIS IS SUPPOSED TO GO PAST YOUR HIPS?"
I mean if I knew anything about sewing I might be able to alter them a bit, but not by MUCH
hahhahaa I totally understand
Hey you
On the subject of clothing prices: I had to make do with what I had for a long time before I found a job and didn't realize
how damn expensive clothes had gotten in the meantime
It's a little ridiculous- and now I know why Ma heads right to the clearance rack at stores
And oh yes, I well know the woes of being shapely
I'm plus-sized, so clothes are usually even more expensive
I don't have the money to buy plus size clothes that
are nice, and I won't have the money unless I get a
job, which I can't get unless I have a car, which I can't get unless I get a job.
yeah it's all kinds of ass backwards
