Also, didn't I already fill out a 5 page application and provide 3 references... a month or two ago?
WHAT WHAT WHAT ARE YOU DOING
WHAT ARE THEY DOING WITH YOU asdas
I don't. Know. Honestly I could deal with the paperwork but I don't want to hassle those people AGAIN for references!
And they're in NY and I am not, so it will inevitably arrive later than my start date is set for
Hnn, Jenx, I really, really would write them a mail and ask why they are asking you to fill out the same thing again
you can phrase this politely and ask if you have done something wrong etc
but I really, really wou.d
It's not the same thing, though, it's something different. And it's not an error, because they were like "whoops we forgot about this"
warn them then that it will take longer, they know that it's not your fault
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH indeed#
It's ASKING the same things, though. So I don't know what's up with it.
are they all silly cookies
Rrrrrgh. Yeah. I'll let them know. But I don't know if my references will be willing to do this shit again.
As in, that you know these questions and what they need it for? Say that you're willing to help as much as you can but
that your references only helped once and might not have the time to do it again
I wonder if I could use my PO boss as one of the references this time. That would make the load a bit lighter, at least, and she liked me.
Though it would be hella scary asking her.
there any reason why it wouldn't work?
Don't think so, except that it's not ~academic~ or whatnot, but I don't think that would matter much.
well, they already have your academic refs!
at least they'll get to see more of you
Yeah. Mostly I just. I hate asking for references. Because I'm not really CLOSE to any of these people, so I feel like I'm imposing.
And also I am irrationally angry at EVERYTHING today. :| So there's that.
hmmm, I can understand that, partly. I didn't ask for a ref for my last job annnnd I even feel bad for going to the doc because I think I'll
waste time. BUT from the mouth of someone who waffles too- do it,
You deserve it, they took up so much of your potential, your energy, and it is something
you have the right to ask, I believe in that.
If nothing else, you could ask if they'd be willing to use the references you already gave them?
It'd be way better than having to do EVERYTHING all over again.
I'll ask, but I doubt it will fly. In any case, I am not worrying about it today. Today is for looking at one more apartment
And then probably driving home and playing vidja games with Raile before I kill something.
Tomorrow I can deal with this and that last check the PO never gave me that I need to call about, etc etc.
and Aegri is right, employers EXPECT to be doing references for former employees. It's really standard.
Also, Dad is always kvetching about the enormous amount of bureaucratic paperwork at CDC... welcome? ><
