I tend to recognise people by their hair or clothes or context

Because it takes me weeks of being familiar with someone before I'll be able to recognise their face.

This is frequently embarrassing. "Um, who are you?" "We've been working together all week." :/

But it's most annoying in tv shows.

Especially when the Big Reveal is done by closing up on a photo which presumably shows a known character in a new context.

Because I have no idea which character that is.

I actually think it is minor. It was just one episode of House that set off this rant.

It is also the reason I like anime so much, I think. It takes me much less time to learn to recognise a cartoon face.

But if anyone has watched House 2.06, can you tell me if the guy in the photograph at the end was the cyclist?
