He's adjusting his tie and checking the time - early to avoid wrath.
does a double take when she arrives, looking a bit shocked. He honestly did think she was going to show up in her uniform....
Lal. You have legs. /tres smooth/
smacks him for that, blushing. "I show leg all the tim!"
rubs his arm and gestures. "Okay, your ratty ol work shorts have nothing on this, kora. You look good." He's just happy that she is
flexing her feminine side a bit~
narrows her eyes dangerously. "So you're saying I'm usually ugly."
........ Wait, what? "Where on earth did you get that from, kora?!" He waves his hands defensively. "You just make a different statement."
looks away, scowling. "Let's just go in and get this over with."
that Lal has an uncanny ability to spread discouragement wherever she goes ;; Okay, no romantic stuff, Colonnello...
grins. "Alright then. This way." And he waves, gesturing her to follow. Though he'd have preferred to follow her so he could steal glances
at her without risking abuse in public.
goes in after him, arms crossed over her chest as she observes the place. It is pretty fancy, but she's used to that sort of place from work
dinners, so she's not entirely uncomfortable.
pulls out a chair for Lal and gestures to it with a smile. "Here you go, kora."
completely ignores that and sits on the other chair. "I told you, nothing that makes it appear anything like a date."
Reeeejected but he keeps his smile and sits down himself. "It was just a polite gesture, kora. Fancy restaurant calls for better manners."
him her best "Don't fuck with me" stare as the waiter brings the menues for them/ Thank you. /to the waiter, not Colo~/
take the menu with a thanks of his own and orders them up a bottle of wine before promptly hiding behind his menu. He takes a moment to sigh
silently through his nose. What was he expecting? He lowers the menu and lays it flat with a grin. "Everything lioks pretty good, kora."
studies the menu carefully. "Hm. Have you picked already?"
No. I'm having a hard time deciding what to pick. /rests his temple against his fist in thought/ Not used to fancy foods, kora.
Ask the waiter for today's recommendation then. That's what I do when I don't know what to take.
... Good point /and he folds his menu shut/ I'm sure whatever it is will wind up tasting good, kora.
Probably. /she closes her own menu and looks away, gazing around the restaurant/
stares at her. She does look really pretty tonight.... Gah! No, no such thoughts. She'll probably guess them. Shaking his head slightly, he
chuckles. "Pretty nice, eh?"
nods, looking back at him. She can't believe she let him talk her into coming her... and that she bought a dress just for this.
"You look weird in a suit."
laughs. "You're not supposed to say that, kora. You're supposed to say I look sharp or handsome."
You could at least have taken off your bandana.
Didn't somebody say this wasnt a date, kora? Maybe if you go on a real date with me, I'll take it off. /honestly though, he'd forgotten it/
blushes, glaring. "I didn't say it for the attractiveness, I said it for how unprofessional it makes you look!"
grins widely. "I'm not trying to look professional, kora. Your second point is invalid." His smile gets bigger. "So thank you."
narrows her eyes again. "Why are you thanking me?"
For the offhanded compliment, kora.
blushes. "It wasn't meant as a compliment!"
Words are interpreted by the listener /smiles~/ So thank you. I'll keep that in mind. /for next time.../
blushes and looks away, clearly angry. Where's the waiter anyway?
she looks awful cute right now. "I'm glad you actually showed up, kora."
huffs quietly. "It's free dinner. Don't take it the wrong way."
I'll take it how I want to /teasing tone/
glares. "If I start thinking you consider this a date I'm leaving."
raises hands defensively. "I'm not taking it like anything. You agreed to dinner. But there was no clause that said I couldn't be myself."
rolls her eyes; finally the waiter comes back to ask for their orders. "Whatever today's recommendation is, we'll take two."
simply gives a nod to the waiter in approval and wiggles his wine glass. "And that wine would be nice too, kora."
watches the waiter leave and come back with the wine, pouring it in their glasses. "Thank you."
glances over at Lal and then smiles up at the waiter. "Feel free to leave the bottle, kora."
holds back the urge to roll her eyes and calmly takes a sip of her wine. She's not going to drink more than one glass anyway.
definitely is downing the rest of the bottle. Maybe a bit of alcohol will make him less focused on this. Not a date, not a date...
How has work been, kora? /sips at his glass/
sets her glass down and shrugs. "Work has been work." Perhaps she should at least show a little interest... "How is mafia land?"
looks pleased. "I got a new batch of trainees, kora. This one actually seems competant. They're more energetic."
raises an eyebrow. "New trainees? Don't go easy on them. I just might show up and give them a good drill."
I never go easy on them, kora /he smules as he takes a sip/ You'd never let me live it down.
nods in approval. "Good, at least you learned something."
Wha-? Hey! /laughs/ I learn plenty, kora. I am who I am today because of you.
raises an eyebrow. "I didn't teach you to be a skirt-chasing moron."
I beg to differ, kora /raises his glass/ You hardly ever wear a skirt. /drinks~/
this urge to smack him, but they're in the middle of a restaurant... "It's just a figure of speech."
One I chose to take quite literally, kora~ /another drink/ But, really, most of my training comes from you.
a little disappointed that it would be inappropriate to attack him in the restaurant and demand to see his progress. Instead, she takes a
sip of wine to calm her nerves. "That's nice."
I learned from the best, kora. /ugh she keeps ending the conversation with each statement asdfgh/
And you still have a long way to go. /sets her wine glass down again/
They say you spend a lifetime learning, kora. And I learned plenty so far!
irritated. How does he stay so positive when she constantly tries to shoot him down?! Thank God, that's when their food arrives; she looks
at the waiter and gives him a nod of thanks he sets down the plates in front of them.
Ahh, this looks great! /grins at his plate and then up at the waiter/ Thank you~
nods in approval and picks up her fork and knife, starting to eat.
goes about eating his own food, picking at it bit by bit.... before heales a very quick movement, stealing a piece off Lal's plate and
's eye twitches. "What the hell?! Eat your own food!"
speaks with a calculated tone as he chews. "Your food tastes better."
glares at him. "Eat your own damn food. Mine is off limits." And stealing food from each other's plates would seem like a couple.
's glare darkens; she crosses her arms over her chest. "I refuse to eat like this."
Someone is acting spoiled, kora. /he chews at his food happily; this is fun~/
slowly starts eating her food, thinking Colonello is done clowning around. "You're acting childish."
If I don't act childish, I'll start thinking this a date, kora. Take your pick.
so. Very. Annoyed. "Don't even think that, moron! I'll leave!"
You won't. I never said I was thinking this a date, I said I might /a pause. Though, really Lal, what harm would it do, kora? /curious look/
