spotted him and snuck up behind him silently, leaning over his shoulder and whispered into his ear, "Hallo, lillebror."
leaped in to the air, flailing as he let out a quiet scream of surprise. His face turned red as he turned to glare at the other man. "..."
stood up straigth again, hands in his pockets. He looked him over before meeting his eyes, raising his eyebrows slightly. "Lost your voice?"
huffed quietly and shoved his hands in to his pockets. "You shouldn't sneak up behind people. It's rude."
tilts his head and stares at him. "Who told y'that?"
stared. "Who... Everyone knows that!"
shrugs. "Maybe." He steps closer to him, staring still. "So where've you been lately?"
shrugs and goes back to walking. "Avoiding you."
frowns slightly and follows him. "I noticed.. Why?"
shrugged again. He hadn't actually been avoiding anyone; he'd merely been reclusive.
fell silent then and kept watching him.
looked at him with a frown. "What?"
looks blankly at him. "How're you?"
"I'm not dead." He responded and looked away, kicking a pebble on the ground as he walked.
easily kept up with him. "'n besides from the obvious?"
"..Godt." He seemed content with that and started looking around where they were walking.
rolled his eyes and kept walking, ignoring the Norwegian for the most part.
walked quietly behind him, observing the landscape as well as his brother.
felt like he was being observed more than the landscape, and didn't like it.
sighs quietly and walks up beside him. He glances down at the other. "'m just glad to see y'again."
tried not to get flustered by that. "Why would you be glad for that? It's not as though I was going to mysteriously die or disappear." He_
had thought that the Norwegian especially would understand needing space from time-to-time.
did understand that need very much, though it would be nice to say so first instead of leaving him to worry. He shrugs. "You might've."
grumbled under his breath, "I can't die, I'm a nation."
"It's happen'd to nations before, 'n others've been close-" He stopped himself there and shakes his head "That wasn't the point."
frowned at him. "Others have been close to what?"
... raises an eyebrow slightly. "..To dyin'." He huffs lightly and looks away. He didn't want to talk about that.
stared at him for a moment, slightly taken back by how put-out he seemed. "What's wrong with dying?"
took his while to respond. "Not livin'." He pauses. "To become a forgotten spot in the history book. 'n all the people might die too,_
shrugged morosely. "Everyone dies eventually."
glanced over at him. "Y'just said we can't 'cause we're nations, 'n now we will either way." He mused. "'s best to try 'n avoid it."
rolled his eyes. "Disappearing for a few days doesn't mean I've died. My entire nation would have had to have been destroyed for me to_
die, and considering that didn't happen, you should have assumed I was fine." He huffed quietly.
... smiled slightly. "I know that." And it'd been longer than a few days.
doesn't see the difference. Few days, few months... Same thing.
huffs quietly at that. He gives up for now, though.
glanced at him. "You look... healthy."
kept his gaze straigth ahead. "..Why wouldn't I?"
shrugged and went back to looking around at anything but Norway.
was relieved he hadn't waited for a proper confirmation to the statement. He went quiet again and returned to look at the nature.
figured Norway was always healthy and well...
was quite well, normally. He glanced around a bit. "'s there any place we can eat 'round here?"
shrugged. "Probably. You're hungry?"
nods. "A bit.. Coffee wouldn't be bad."
nodded and looked around. "There's a place down there."
frowned, kicking at the ground as he walked towards the cafe.
watched him for a moment, before turning around to walk backwards as he looked at the buildings instead.
blinked, giving him an odd look.
kept his gaze up towards the rooftops, so he didn't notice look. He'd made sure nothing was in his way before he'd turned.
"... Is there a reason you're walking backwards?"
"I can't see the things behind me walkin' the other way, can I."
rolled his eyes and kept walking. "It's obviously better to see behind you rather than ahead."
"..Fair point." He turned back again. "It depends on which way looks better."
smirked faintly and continued walking until they reached the cafe. He pushed open the door and walked in first.
followed behind him and let the door quietly swing shut after them.
sat at a booth and waited for a waitress to bring them the menus.
sits down across of him, folding his hands on the table.
took a menu and looked through it, ordering a black coffee.
got the same drink and a pastry, grateful he still knew enough Icelandic to not end up with rotten shark.
wouldn't bother telling him that he could have ordered in English. He found his Icelandic to be cute.
... Tried at least. He scowled slightly and put his chin in his hand, looking out the window.
watched him, hiding his amusement behind a poker face.
looked over to him again. "Then y'speak Norwegian."
shrugged. "I prefer Danish." His Norwegian was terribly outdated (and out of practice.) and he'd rather not sound like an archaic old man.
slowly sat up straigth and stared at him.
continued staring at him. "Norwegian."
"I så fall, Jeg foretrekker Dansk."
((... Was that Danish or Norwegian ? 'cause the sentence is the exact same.))
((... Rrnfhgf-! They're pronounced differently though D: /and it's the Norwegians that copied off Danish))
(( Haha, probably... idk. He'd probably try to make it sound Norwegian, but it would sound more like really bad Icelandic.))
(( Trust me, I know my Scandinavian. And OK!))
(( Haha, I trust you! I'm not very familiar with Norwegian accents/speaking in general, so I apologize if I ever say anything horrible. ))
((... Nei. Don't be sorry. That'd be amazing.))
leant back in his seat. "Bra."
"Íslenska er besta..." He hummed as they received their order.
took his coffee, thanking the waitress quietly before turning back to him. He shrugs, "Enhver til sitt eget."
supposed that he could agree to that. He sipped his coffee quietly without saying anything, his attention turned to the other diners.
ate his pastry in silence, satisfying his slight hunger. He tapped his coffee cup absently, not really focusing his eyes on anything.
thinks he could have ordered something more had he been more hungry. He finished his cup of coffee and set it on the edge of the table for_
wasn't that hungry. He drank slowly if his own coffee.
tapped his fingers along the edge of the table in time with a quiet song playing on a radio behind the counter.
hums... ".. Oh.. You've got a reprensative for Eurovision too now, hm."
nodded. "Hm... yes." This year's entrant seemed popular enough in Iceland, though he didn't much care for the competition itself.
sips of his warm coffee. "Is he or she any good?"
shrugged. "They're not horrible." They weren't his favorite, however.
nods. That 'compliment' usually worked for most of the songs in that show. He finished his coffee soon after.
wasn't a very strong fan of Eurovision to begin with, but he supposed it was nice to get more exposure for his musicians.
put his empty cup beside Icelands and leant back in his seat, folding his hands in his lap.
looked at him with a frown.
said nothing, and turned his attention to the waitress who refilled their cups. He nodded quietly in thanks and took a sip.
blinks, turning slightly to look after the waitress questionably for a moment. He frowns, eventually settling back in and taking his cup.
watched out the window as he drank his coffee slowly.
