The engine temperature gauge?
No, it's not the temperature one. This one shows a little oil can. It goes from L to H.
that separate from the gas/petrol gauge?
That's your oil pressure. Low and High
There's an oil pressure gauge
But for me, it's just a light.
High bad or ok? It's usually in the middle.
As a rule of thumb the engine oil pressure gauge should never drop below 1/4 pressure and never exceed 3/4 pressure.
No numbers, just a big L and a big H. It's pointing at the H.
Guess I'll just take it in. shrug
Could be your sensor is bad or bad oil pump?
probably better you do... anytime anything inside an engine is over-pressurized, things can 'splode...
I'm all about relieving the pressure
Its more serious to have it at L. No pressure can destroy an engine in like two minutes.
thanks. That makes me feel a bit better.
Also, if you're idling or the engine is under load, the pressure may shoot up a little bit. But if it stays at H all the time, take it in
Check the oil for sure. That shouldn't be there.
it could be a bad fiter or bad sensor. If you got your oil changed recently possibly the viscosity of the oil is too high (or if you don't
The oil could be too thick or the oil filter could be blocked or the gauge could be bad.
change it enough...could be a sign of an issue).
