decreasing karma is a bad idea, for whatever reason.

Yeah. They're basically saying don't use the service much and don't make new friends!

the idea of decreasing Karma, but thinks it should be carefully considered. We certainly don't need folks having a complex over the system.

the idea is a bad one in total. Afterall it's not going to stop spam is it? Karma or not, spam will continue...

I haven't seen any spam yet on my posts, but notices it on friends with much higher Karma. I do wonder how that will pan out.

what else the decreasing karma could possibly be used for unless they make more changes like freezing accounts..

that decreasing Karma on Plurk was linked to an increase in real life Karma. Being declined when requesting friends is just stupid.

that's an interesting thought silky. Perhaps both parties Karma should drop if a friend request is rejected.

that shouldn't alter Karma at all. You shouldn't have karma reduced for denying a request from somebody you dont know..

it should only be reduced for the person initiating the request if they send over 'x' amount within 'x' time (excessive requesting)

Ah good thinking. But what about folks, like myself, who are just starting out and are mass adding for good reason? :-o

the Karma reduction is a stick to encourage you to add people 'friend' when they request regardless of who they are. OSLT...

they could only start reducing karma from those with excessive requests and over a certain karma already, i.e not new users...
