you are right. I tend to plurk for karma, not because I really want to.
exclaims is why there is a lot of useless chatter instead of meaningful content on Plurk. Karma causes a high signal to noise ratio. IMHO

I don't even pay attention to my Karma ... I use ping.fm to message plurk, twitter and pownce at the same time.
