I'm at work, ringing this guy up, and behind him is this girl, and behind her, this older guy.
As I'm ringing the first (unimportant to the story) guy out, I'm kinda listening to what the girl and older guy are talking about.
He's complimenting her, saying that she's very pretty and she's giving the typical "thank you" response but I could tell it was bugging her.
Then he starts talking about things he would do to her if they were together. Keep in mind, this guy is maybe in his 50's.
"I'd bring you home, pop open a nice bottle of wine and treat you right. I bet you've never been treated right before, I know how to make-
Finally, she stops him and goes "Ok, you're making me feel really uncomfortable by saying stuff like that"
So he starts apologizing, "I'm sorry, I'm just having a little fun, you're just so beautiful, how 'bout you just give me your number?"
I generally try and stay out of situations like this, mostly because it's none of my business, but I won't stand for people who can't defend
So I go, "Excuse me sir, but you're making her uncomfortable and I'm not gonna put up with that, so you need to leave or I'm gonna call the-
-cops. The guy looks at me and says "Man, gimme a break, I'm not doing anything wrong". I go "Yes you are, she's not interested so please-
-leave before I call the cops"
By this point, I smelled booze on his breath, which explained a lot and luckily he walked out, muttering to himself. The girl stood by my-
-register and called, who I assumed was her boyfriend or husband/friend to pick her up and something like 10 minutes later, the person came.
She thanked me and I walked her out to make sure the guy wasn't here, which he wasn't.
Situations like that always make my heart race because it can turn into something crazy at the drop of a hat. Since he was drunk, he-
-could've decided to try and kick my ass for getting in his business but it thankfully didn't go that route.
Plus, I'm pretty sure I could kick a 50 year old's ass.
Joe I am so happy that you did that! I'm sure she was very grateful too
