What grade?

5th grade?!?!?! I love the American Revolution!

The War of 1812 was my favorite war. So many great people and cool stories...

yep 5th grade...We have started talking about the American Revolution...I struggle getting excited about it, because I haven't ever liked

social studies, but I don't want my students to have that feeling.

Just not sure how to go about it to also get the kids excited about it

Does your district have a curriculum? I like to include lots of non-fiction reading. We often do webquests, and I have a wiki for that.

abrandt: I was never excited about Science growing up.. . . nor did I really enjoy teaching it in 4th grade. . . . .I love it now.

Sometimes you just have to jump in with both feet and think, the kids need you. You may grab a student who is just like you.

Get excited and jump in and see what happens.

That you MrP_tchr...You are right. I just don't have a lot of confidence with it which brings me down. I need to realize that its okay for

me to learn along with the students
