that's absolutely true...by definition, at least. Most democratic nations (coughamericacough) have governments that have become so corrupt

over time that it's hardly for the people-which is a right shame, really.

And she'd seen enough proof of that, really. But now the people seem to understand this isn't right. That in itself has got to be an

accomplishment of democracy, right? The right to expect better of rulers.

supposes that's the case...but the main issue is that, though they desire and expect better rulers, they won't actually do anything about

it.

That's the glitch in the programming, the bug in the network. Eventually they'll get that straightened out... right? We're seeing it happen.

If the people don't like the rulers, they'll gather and protest against them. It's not very violent, so any violence against the people will

lead to international condemnation - it's like a game of chess. There are two moves - one will let the opponent win, the other will make you

lose.
Pity it takes so much time.

can only hope so. If the humans don't get their act together soon enough, then everything is going to collapse. For all they know, it

could push humanity into another Dark Age, and this time he's not so sure they'll be able to recover or start from scratch.
