She works for the local 'Family Resource Center' and they always have a tree with tags of kids or families who need help at Christmas.

People come in, take a tag off the tree, go buy things, then bring them to the center and the center wraps and distributes.

We have a Family Resource Center at MSU. Amazing how many student-families are in dire need.
