$800 is the most unrealistic sales goal for a _four hour shift selling TOWELS_ I ever heard in my life.
... wow. I used to work at a super-upscale linens & lingerie store and I doubt I even sold $800 in four hours there.
I mean, if my shift was longer-- that is a fair goal. I did get 51% there.
but the goals are so RANDOM.
in housewares i'm usually 1200+ .... but those are eight hour shifts.
and I had no idea what I was doing today ;A; because I've never worked textiles
And I'd imagine it's easier to get large sales.
well, WHEN you get them, yes-- cookware sets range from 99-500
and blenders can be pricey, too.
but this is why my favorite customers are the 70 and older crowd
..... I really love them a lot.
because they just want someone to speak distinctly, and be patient.
and they will stick with you, and come back and ask for you, and be so polite-- if you're just PATIENT.
and they are all the age of my dad's parents... if they hadn't passed away ;; so I like talking to them.
Yeah, we had a bunch of customers like that the the linens & lingerie store too. Old regulars who had been shopping there forever.
I hate it when people are brusque with them. I will spend half and hour on a ten dollar sale with customers like that.
because I sort of feel the same way about the world sometimes, I think.
like everything is just too loud and fast... for no reason.
I'm starting to wonder if I might be good at working for my dad's business, after all...
he has a health care company, and hires physical therapists to work to develop in-home independence
primarily for older people with Parkinsons
Oooh. That actually sounds like it could be really interesting!
And it's something that would be rewarding, too.
yeah! I remember watching HIM work as a physical therapist, when I was reeeeally little
and it freaked me out because the person was yelling the whole time XD
but he was so patient-- and today, an older couple told me a should be a nurse because my voice was soothing XD
so I'm starting to get a little confidence that... maybe that is something I could do.
There's always a need for people in that field.
especially where I live! it is most of the population.
