Working on this health IT certification thing and stayed up WAY too late last night.

Health IT cert? What's that?

With all of the federal incentives for adding electronic medical record systems to the healthcare industry, there is a huge need for

those who can handle the information technology aspects of it. Within the federal law that created the incentives there were also incentives

to send people back to school to get certified in handling such systems from a medical perspective. Since my attempts at finding a job in

that field have been less than successful (because I have no official computer certifications to prove my IT skills), I decided to take

advantage of the program.

It's expected to take 6 months (or less) and there are various incentives to finish sooner.

I'm behind because I started the program right about the same time that Horgon's dad fell ill and died.

My husband got his A+ and Network + in a boot camp and is instructor suggested he gets some kind of cert like this as well...

He's looking for entry level work and no one is willing to hire a "newbie"

Exactly. My problem is the opposite. I've been in the medical field since 1985. I have the medical knowledge and the certifications to prove

it. I have the necessary computer knowledge but have no proof.
