Why is it that working on a resume makes one want to curl up into a little ball and die?

My contract is up at the end of the year, so I'm getting everything together. Been here for 5 years, so the prospect of looking for
something else is just exhausting to think about!
They're moving the entire department up to mountain view and not renegotiating contacts with the vendor companies, so it's kind of across
the board. Sad.
