Oh my! Are you being evacuated from where you are?
My friend and his kids drove to New Jersey this morning for a long weekend family reunion - he has to leave tomorrow
just coastal areas, I would assume
I am about 60 miles inland
Oh yeah. It's really the tidal surge that could be an issue. She's not that intense of a hurricane
i know but these weather guys are freakin everyone out
You have books and flashlight batteries?
what are they going to do when she heads east haha
I need to do a little shopping
I know. Drama queens lol They were getting hysterical here yesterday about the thunderstorm and remote possiblity of tornados
I gave 3 gals of water... full tank of gas
you know, I get excited over weather too but they are really pushin it
Thanks Penny I should be fine
it won't get to you until the 28th they're saying.
I was on Cape Cod when a hurricane was coming...this was years and years ago. We went inland to a motel on I95 and it was just heavy rain
I have friends down in Ptown - not sure what their plans are yet... fortunately they also have a house up here in NH
Just make sure you have stuff to read and light to read it by. there's nothing worse than a power outage and you have nothing to read
Lotz of books Nikki! Just got back from farmers market too- lots of fresh veggies - need some sandwich stuff and batteries and I am
good to go ..... Can u think of anything else?
oh yea...,Paul is in Ptown michele... have you heard from him??
No I havn't but Susan still has her house here in NH - not far from me actually - just hope they come up and not try to ride it out....
he said in fb that they aren't worried. looks like they are staying put for now
It doesn't take but a few hours to drive up here from there - I'm sure they will be fine
I only know power outages, not hurricanes
good luck to all of the Eastern Seaboard!
I was reading an article about it. They use the word 'nightmare' a lot. You'll be fine. Wet, but you're well inland.
I figure if I keep ignoring the news it will pass me by.
You are going to get so nailed
Nikki - it looks like you might even see some of this. That is if it actually hits the coast and doesnt go out to sea
I am a bit inland (Jersey City Heights) so I am not expecting too much excitement. This might mess with my 6 flags plans, though.
I'm kind of worried about my mom in southeastern Conn. on Long Island Sound. I hope you guys are okay.
she might be right in the middle of it - New Jersey is being evacuated already, I hope she doesn't have any problems
The whole state of NJ? I didn't hear anything
It's not coming here. The track is towards New Brunswick where they are preparing. I've never seen one bump along the coast like that.
Um, which New Brunswick? There is one
in New Jersey, ya know
the bigger one
