I had to go to the dmv to get a permit to move my car from the tow yard. The permit is good for one day.

I went to the tow yard to get my car, they said you have to go to this police station and pay a fee. And it closes at 3pm, so tomorrow

so I went to the police station the next day

they required written proof of insurance and I didn't receive my most recent insurance card so they wouldn't give me my car

and they charge at least $194, cash only

apparently, when you get your car towed by the police, you get put into a computer system so antiquated

that they can't look up if your insurance is current and they don't take debit cards

wtf?

it means that tomorrow, I have to get through the DMV in time to get a permit and go back to the police station by 3pm

hoping that my insurance agent has faxed my proof of insurance to them

so I can get a smog check so I can go back to the dmv

oh, I missed a step

after the police station, I have to go to the tow yard, by which time my car will probably have been moved to the other tow yars

so I will have to fill out forms there and wait for a cab to take me to the other tow yard, so I can get a smog check

so I can go back to the DMV

because when you're coughing up blood, what you really need to be doing with your time

is standing in lines all day long trying to get your car so you can get to the doctor
