Unfortunately the result is less ice cream stands - would have been fun to be a kid living here in the 60's

No - it doesn't which is why the remaining ice cream stands are so precious. Totally local and so creamy

I just read an article that says different cows produce different cream so some have a higher fat content than others

People will drive say from Boston up in the the lakes area just for ice cream
