offers the man a good old all-American smile as he ducks out of his make-shift shelter, happy to see the Canadian was still on his
feet. "Hey there, Mattie! Christ, am I glad to see you in one piece."
waves even though he's not that far away. "It's good to see you too." He smiles softly. "It's been...really quiet."
nodded, lips lifted into a smile despite the pang of sorrow at such a sad statement. "Sure has... But that's alright! It'll take people a
bit to come to terms with all this shit, but when they do, they'll be pullin' themselves up by their own boot-straps before ya know
it." Always the optimist.
mostly agrees, but thinks it will take much more work than Alfred realizes. He'll just have to be the practical one. "Yeah, but..." He
sighs. "We need to focus on surviving first."
nodded, stepping nearer to the Canadian to clap him firmly on the back. "Way aheada ya, Mattie! Got a shelter, some food, some
water. ...Doesn't hurt to have a little extra though. Or, ya know, a lot extra."
stumbles a bit from the force. Smiles and rubs his neck. "W-well, I have plenty of water." And there was always more where that came from.
laughts light-heartedly and wraps an arm around the other's shoulders, half-dragging him towards the shelter. "And I got lots to
eat! See? We'll be alright, you and I, we'll get through this hell-hole together, AND be there when anybody else needs a helping hand!"
hears some noise from beyond the boulder she'd been sitting by. People talking. Loudly. She looks around it and sees the brothers.
She slips back behind the boulder. Opposing sides during the war, surely not the same side after it.
smiles at his brother, slumping a little under the weight of his arm. "Of course we will." He has to admit, he feels better already. He
catches a glimpse of something out of the corner of his eye and turns to look, but nothing's there...
