choonkeat: I finally know what you mean by going "back and forth" in plurk. Seems like this UI might not be feasible in the long run?

Nah... it's the way when there's a new msg/ comment and I gotta travel back & forth in time to view/ reply... 
the fact that Plurk doesn't have some of friendfeed recommendations or twitter's sms makes it kinda a glorified IM... 
ya. i like their "threading", but perhaps the UI could be less literal (at least for bigger groups)
i just realise there's no sense of time in the reply threads...
