That's okay. Sometimes I don't plurk all day or even for a couple days. Just don't get around to it. We'll be here when you want to plurk.
Miriah you ROCK! Steady..steady rockin' all night long!
but looks like you are plurking now - lol - but of course here it is 2:05 am so technically that is Sunday and not Saturday - lol
you ladies are up pretty late
Only a little after midnight here. Sounds like you're up really late at 2 am. In the summer I'm usually up late though anyway.
lol - I'm on the east coast and this is normal for me
although I really need to scoot to bed as I have to work in the morning and then need to work on my books
I'm in the mountain time zone and it's pretty normal for me too.
just got my first edit from a friend on my YA
it wasn't as bad as I thought - I figured she would slash it and have me rewrite the thing - lol
I haven't done anything since I wrote it in 2009
not rewritten it or edited or anything at all
Sounds like you must have done a good job.
she says she was surprised and pleased with my ending (Yay me! - lol) and most of her comments were pretty easy fixes
I'm waiting for the two young ladies who are reading it to give me their feedback before doing the edits
I thought we were already friends - just accepted your friend request
craftycoz
Sounds promising. Do you have a publisher?
using createspace, which is where I'm publishing my state books
No, I've seen you on several of my friends plurks but never friended each other. I had to check myself.
lol - I just saw the email notification and so went to my alerts and accepted
I hope to have books 7 and 8 (state stories) out by October and this one by October as well
I do the Savannah Children's Book Festival in November and would like to have my YA completed before then so I have something else to offer
How many have you published already?
I have 6 states published - the first one just came out of contract with my publisher and is in the process of being
republished - it will hopefully be released next week
the 2nd and 3rd are still with the publisher and the rest I self published
I also have study guides to go with each state
Who did you have as a publisher for the first 3?
4 and 5 are available to be ordered by schools and libraries (through Baker and Taylor or Ingrams - whichever they order through) - 6 just
got updated (thought I had checked all those pesky boxes when I upgraded in May) and won't be available to be ordered through them until
Elysabeth...you are a big time writer! Very neat...now I am going to have to check it out.
probably the end of August/first part of September
What states have you done? Or do I have to read them to find out?
naw - just won second place on my first ever entered contest and turned that story into my state series
elysabeth and Miriah, I am up a bit later than I should be...we are central so we have three time zones representing here!
that is supposed to be the mystery - but I'll tell ya'll
1 = Idaho; 2 = Arkansas; 3 = Oklahoma; 4 = SC; 5 = Colorado; 6 = Montana
7 = Indiana; 8 = Minnesota; 9 = Utah; 10 = Hawaii
elysabeth...you must be like a fine wine...getting better at writing as you age.
did I mention that each book has its own supplemental study guide?
So, you said 6 isn't out yet right? That's my state.
Sounds like a good series for a geography class and/or an english class.
I teach neither, but it might still be fun to read.
need to finish a bit of research for the study guide for #6 but the book is available and tomorrow after work, I'll do that bit of research
and finish the study guide
and or my MS English class!
my intentions originally were to supplement social studies with the study guides going cross curriculum
Seriously going to check it out. Please, let me know the name of #1 if you would. Where are you selling them?
I've had college students beg for more, adults really enjoy the series so far and 3rd graders and between read the first couple and beg for
State of Wilderness but that will be rereleased next week hopefully - as soon as my illustrator gets everything to me - I hope to order
proof copy Friday when I get paid and then release it as soon as I go through it
all the books are called State of ... with the title being a clue to the state actually
State of Wilderness 1st printing is only available through me or my publisher right now (whatever is left on hand)
Where does one purchase one of your books?
keep me in the loop on the release info if you think of it, or I can just pyl too!
g00d luck with all of it.
State of Quarries (AR), State of Reservations (OK), State of Successes (SC), State of Heights (CO), State of Nature (MT)
yay yay yay! I am sooo on it!
I think I have 3 copies of the first one on hand (not sure how many the publisher has)
I just looked and Amazon has a couple available. Only 1 through them but some other outlets have a couple.
so excited to check it out and glad that I decided to hop on tonight...I mean today (coz)! I am going to pay for staying up so late!
yeah - I wouldn't trust those other outlets - not sure where they get their copies from
I am on this! I have it pegged for my to do list tomorrow! Thanks so much for sharing!
I have to hit the hay...my goodness it is late and I have a 7, 4, and 1 that will be up in 6 hours wanting breakfast! NIght ladies! nice
to chat with you both! Have a great....augh...TODAY!
swarrington2 - if you want State of Wilderness the 1st printing - you can email me and I will sell to you for $10 which will include
night - I'll be back in the morning sometime too
Oh yes, I will do that now. Thanks so much!
and that is same as my paypal too -
how would you like me to pay?
YES! I have a paypal account...soo it will be easier.
that works for me - that way I'll have your mailing address - just make a note to whom to make the book
Sounds great. I took down all the information you gave
swarrington2. I'll think about it and let you know.
would you consider signing it?
yes I sign any copies I have on hand
That so rocks!
I am excited to see the copy!
Well, ladies, I am going to go soothe my sunburn in a cool shower, finish watching my show, and go to bed. Good night.
I'll be making a mail run Friday - have several packages to put in the mail - so it will be then when I put in the mail to you
vinegar takes the sting out of sunburns - doesn't smell good but works wonders
Yeah, I've put some aloe on it already.
I should say night as well - since I have to work in the morning
Anybody else feel like we're on the Waltons?
Sarah - hope you have a good night too
not sure I saw that one either.
Just sent you an email Elysabeth and good night to you...you too Mariah! Have a great one!
