"I could fall on my nose with one of these pictures but I had another one right behind it that would hit." -Walt Disney
Let's hope "Brave" would be the next hit. It looks good so far.
I don't think it will matter…this movie is going to make a boatload of money over it's run.
...and if the movie doesn't, the merchandise will.
It's just the fact that Pixar always had decent reviews with critics. Just seeing the reviews for this shocked me.
I really don't care what critics say….I never read them.
Same here, I saw the film and I liked it.
I saw it last night. I wasn't expecting it to be as heavy on the spy aspects... And it just didn't have the Pixar "heart".
Yeah that's what both Cars films lacked.
But still I liked it, and that is all that matters.
I think the first did. Maybe not as much as others, but it was there.
I think with this film, the creators just wanted to have a little fun. Pixar has been making a lot of serious movies recently.
I liked Cars the more I watched it….I went into the movie the first time with such low expectations….and it exceeded them…which wasn't hard.
So…with Cars too….since everyone says it's not that good….I probably would go in again with low expectations.
I also think some people's expectations were set way too high after the successes of UP and Toy Story 3.
I thought UP was okay…not great.
Still, I hope the critics reviews won't discourage Pixar. As long as it has some success I think they'll be O.K.
swabp: Hence Walt's quote above.
TiggerRay: Agree on UP. And if you're thinking about waiting for Cars 2 on DVD/Blu, I wouldn't discourage you.
It certainly is cheaper than going to a theater
With the costs of going to a movie…above and beyond the tickets and the behavior of people in the theater….I've lost a lot of enthusiasm...
…for going to a movie in a theater. There really has to be a good movie for me to want to go to a theater.
I effing HATE people at the theater. Love seeing it on a big screen, though. Especially IMAX. I was lucky enough to get to see it a day..
It's hard for me to justify spending $60-70 to take us all to the movies
..and for free.
wdwfanjon volunteers at the MN Zoo and they do night-before showings for them for several movies each year.
Yeah. I'm lucky he invites me up for them.
