Just get a bunch of followers and they'll shower you with love ~
...that seems to be the new mindset, lmao
Yeah, I've picked that up as well. Followers on tumblr = magical friendship! Why would anyone bother with LJ after such an easy way?
Yeeeah. I'm admittedly bitter since most of my friends in LJ seem to care more and invest more in their followers than in friends elsewhere
But...I guess that's more comfortable and easier for most people. And also, less drama.
Yeah, I'll admit I have some bitterness towards friends who have flounced to tumblr as well. I just wish friendships meant more to people
I just wish people were willing to put a little bit of effort. But apparently real friendships demand too much of an effort...
I'll be honest, I'm only on tumblr for the pretty pictures.
but lord, otherwise it's so... confusing
and hard to follow sometimes
and it's also full of wank at times
still
for you
I've heard so; fortunately for me, little wank comes my way.
For the most part, tumblr is for me only pretty pics, and keeping in touch with those I already know from LJ
I don't see the shining thing about followers >>
Most of my Tumblr friends I already knew.
From LJ or otherwise. I'm mostly there for pictures
I've met some nice people there, but it's not good for getting to know people and I would like to get to know them better, but yeah
Some people who are obsessed with followers, however...
Yeah, it's not good for getting to know people. But that doesn't seem to be a problem for everybody; more like, the contrary...
It's sad how many people these days put attention/# of followers over genuine friendship. :/
When you see how much some people invest on followers, I wonder; do I have to talk to this person through tumblr to have its attention? xD
Some people are like that with LJ friends, though
More people=/=forming good friendships
Like, I like meeting people but I don't do it for the sake of...having people around
But what bugs me is that...some people /really/ seem more comfortable talking through tumblr rather than any other place
And that leaves me like /whut/...
Yeah same. Tumblr's format is just not good for having long friendship-forming conversations.
Yeah. There are some people on there I would gladly give contact info to because they seem awesome, but it's hard to get close to people on
a site primarily for spamming pictures
Tumblr's format doesn't really work for that, indeed. But I don't know /sigh/ seems that's exactly what some people want.
Not forming long-friendships, but short-timed relationships that don't take that much effort.
I guess it's...disappointing to realize that some of your LJ friends don't feel exactly comfortable with putting some effort on friendship.
