There has to be a way to sign into Itunes on your new computer though, and it might bring up all of the music you have already

I've activated the new laptop, it transfered "purchases" - apps & 2 movies but the songs are all downloads ...

if your old laptop is still alive, you could put the files on a flashdrive and transfer them that way

you can just go into iTunes, select all, and hit Copy from there, then paste onto the other drive
