I love Plurk and I think it's far superior to Twitter, but all my friends & internet friends are using Twitter.
The reason? Because Twitter has an API and you can put it on almost ANY internet connected device.
Computers, mobile phones, MIDs, iPod Touches to name a few... I really hope Plurk gets this sorted out .
Because with no API, you are failing to expand your user base. Twitter got big because it was the first of it's kind. It hit mainstream when
people could get on it and use it everywhere/anywhere. My plea to Plurk: PLEASE RELEASE AN API! I know you guys are a small team
but get on it!
I don't want to see Plurk go the way of Pownce (yes they had an API and failed (Pownce was lame though)).
Heck I'd be willing to pay for Plurk service if it will help you hire on an extra person to develop an API.
I mean I bought the $10 Twitterific Premium iPhone app for Twitter... and I really don't like Twitter that much
EXCEPT for the fact that they have some pretty SWEET Twitter clients and I can use them on my iPhone. Yeah I know that you have a "mobile"
site, but that cripples Plurk as a service as well as the user experience. Also it's not as full featured as the regular website, unlike
Twitter and the Twitter clients that give you almost *every* feature/option/service/and setting that the regular website does.
I'm leaving Plurk because I can't get my RL friends to switch over to it... & they won't switch because there is no iPhone/mobile phone app.
I'm sad to go, I really am cause I have met some really cool people here, and I've had some **AMAZING** interactions with other plurksters!
but w/no app on my iPhone, Plurk becomes usless to me because I never take my laptop every single place I go. I do however take my iPhone
with me and I'm constantly updating Twitter w/posts and pics. Finding out where my friends are and how close they are to me. Twitter service
isn't cool, but it is useful. Plurk is cool, but not useful. Dear A -Team, will this change? Until then, I'm out. I'll be back.
When there is an API... Plurk ya later.
