looked about before settling down and relaxing the tiniest bit. He had not gotten even one *iota* of rest in the past few days. It seems
that a bust had backfired and he was being tailed by Italian mobsters. Flying under the radar was the hardest part, staying under was
simple. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a wandering man, small stature, trailing around confusedly. He wearily kept his eye on him,
sipping his drink slowly.

pretty tired, very jetlagged, and really, really lost. He checked his map again - it should be *somewhere* around here. This city was huge,
compared to home, and he had been walking in circles for about an hour now. He sank down on a bench and traced a route on the map, his
forehead furrowing in concentration.
watched the man with amusement as he absentmindedly sat on the bench the Prussian happened to be occupying. He discreetly slid his hand to
the gun he hid in his coat pocket and addressed the other. "Excuse me, I'm assuming you're lost?"
[[kdfhsfhj night night~]]
hadn't noticed the other guy until he spoke. "Huh? Oh, um, yeah." He definitely had an accent - he thought it was German - but he looked a
lot more at home here than Matt probably did. "Sorry to bother you ..."
actually struck a bit speechless. Never before had he seen such brilliant violent eyes be. Giving out an embarrassed cough, he released the
shielded weapon. "It's not a problem, I'm Finn, local Stasi" he offered his false badge. For security reasons of course.

He was police? Or ... something like that? Okay. "It's nice to meet you, Finn. I'm Matthew." He offered his hand with a tentative smile.
grinned comfortingly yet distant. "Well Matthew, is there anywhere in particular you wanted to go?" He inquired, gesturing to the map.
"Do you know where the Canadian consulate is? I've been looking for it for *ages*, I was supposed to report there at three." He checked his
watch; it was nearly six. *Tabernac*.
couldn't help but bark a laugh. "Ok, I see why you couldn't find it." He leaned over and pulled the map out of the other's hands, turning it
around. "You had the map upside down and the building is over here," he pointed to the farthest point on the map.
A slow blush spread over Matthew's cheeks. "... Oh. That's embarrassing, eh." It was going to take him ages to walk there; the consulate
had probably given up on his ever arriving. He laughed awkwardly and stood up. "Well, thanks for your help, Finn."
"I actually have to head over there too, now that you mention it. I wouldn't mind giving you a ride" he shrugged, finishing his coffee and
tossing the empty cup into a bin.
"Really?" He smiled broadly, tucking the map back into his coat pocket. "That'd be awesome, thanks so much!" This guy didn't look too crazy,
and, well, Matthew was armed. Even if he only had blanks.
"No problem" He was it off, leading his way to the car. "Give me a second to...clean up" he grinned sheepishly.
followed, leaning against the car as he waited for Finn to finish whatever he was doing in there. "So, you're some kind of ... agent?"
"Just your average awesome police officer" he laughed, quickly gathering his confidential files and stowing them under the driver's seat. He
unstrapped the 3 guns he had and tossed them into the glove compartment. Looking over the interior of his car once more, to make sure
everything was hidden, he stepped away from the door. "All clean"
slid into the passenger seat and buckled up. "Me too. Well. Not awesome, I guess. But I am a police officer."
"Canadian Mountie? Shouldn't you be in uniform?" Gil walked around the vehicle and slid into his own seat, securing the seat belt. He
started the car and looked left before pulling out.
"Oh, this is my uniform." A less patient man than Matt would have been annoyed at having to correct this misconception time and time again.
"The red is for special occasions."
"Ah, gotcha" he nodded, stopping at a red light. "So I'm assuming this is the first time you've ever been here? I've never heard of
Canadians coming over here for work before." he admitted.
"Just got off the plane this morning." At about four o'clock, in fact. "I'm the new liason officer at the consulate." He bit his lip and
tried not to think about what had happened to the old one.
hummed in understanding, making another turn. "So, how was your flight? Anything eventful happen?" His gaze flickered between the road and
He looked thoughtfully out the window, taking in the unfamiliar city. "Not really." Nothing eventful ever really happened to him. "I had to
talk them into letting my dog through, though, he started howling at the check-in ..."
"You've got a dog? That's awesome! I've got 3 myself, rottweilers all of 'em" He grinned, feeling himself let his guard down. "What type you
"A Great Pyrenees." A dog person! He felt safer already. "Kuma. That's what he's called, I mean ... Three rottweilers, huh? That must get
"You don't even know" he laughed. "My brother's got 3 too and when we decided to meet up, it's like war" he grinned widely, eyes shining in
(( They are like polar bears except RIDICULOUSLY CUDDLY OMG))
"I can imagine." Speaking of brothers, he hadn't called his yet; he made a mental note to do so whenever he got back to his new apartment.
"I wouldn't trust Kuma and my brother around each other even if he lived close enough to see."
"He irresponsible or something?" He stopped at another light, flicking his blinker on. He ruffled his hair slightly to push stray hairs out
"No, no, Alfred loves dogs. Kuma just doesn't like *him*." Matthew pulled out the map again, trying to figure out where they were.
"He is ... kind of irresponsible, though, I guess."
"One time, when my bro was younger, he kept pulling on Burlin's tail, my oldest. So, in return, when he was sleeping, Burlin peed on him" he
shook in laughter, smacking his hand on the wheel. Calming down, he turned right down another street, merging into the highway.
chuckled. Finn referring to one of his dogs as 'his oldest' was, well, cute. "Kuma likes to steal my brother's burgers. He won't even eat
them, he just does it to tick Alfred off."
"My chick, Gilbird, is an aerial ninja, I shit you not. If you have a hot dog and you blink for 2 seconds too long, it's gone. He would of
devoured it by then" He chuckled, looking over the other quickly to see if the lithe man was paying attention.
"Chicks eat meat?" asked Matthew, sceptically. It was warmer here than he was used to, and he absentmindedly unzipped his coat.
felt his grip on the wheel tighten just a tad more. *Just a tad*. "Uh, well mine does. He eats whatever he can get his claws on."
"Really?" He wasn't quite sure whether or not to believe this guy. "Is that healthy?"
"He's never been sick due to food so I assume his appetite's accustomed to human food" He shrugged, not at all bothered that it was
"Ah, I see..." He loosened his tie. "Are you from around here, then?"
