okay, there's this chemical that's produced when someone's in love with someone else. it's called dopamine.

this chemical is also found in cocaine and nicotine. it provides the body with a feeling of enjoyment.

i think part of being broken hearted is the result of withdrawal of this chemical after the body becomes addicted to it.

so the body feels energy-less and sad.

so... a broken heart can be scientifically related to withdrawal from a drug.

just my 2 cents.

no they just get dopamine a different way. and cocaine probably has amounts of the chemical far larger than what's produced naturally
