I'd agree with Tim, it definitely depends on the context. Sometimes you have to do it for transparency.

I've never noticed that before. I have seen them mention their co. multiple times in the comments though and think that is bad form.

DebInDenver - I agree about within comments. For some reason, I think it's spammy when they're talking themselves up within the comment,

but in the name seems less obtrusive to me.
