senses someone nearby and sits up, glancing over at Thora. She looked familiar...
doesn't notice him and kicks the snow in frustration.
raises an eyebrow and keeps watching her, dusting a bit of snow off himself.
flopped down on the snow with a 'hmph' and finally noticed that someone else was there. She stared openly at them.
stares right back, not saying anything.
*knew* it was a man, but it looked so much like her sister. She practically launched herself at him in relief, but was determined to keep
her cool. "When'd you have it done?"
arches a brow. "What done?"
"Denmark's been pestering you about a sex change for *years*. I never thought you'd actually *do* it." She frowned.
twitches. "Nei, I haven't had a sex change." Was this his brother's counterpart?
"Then why are you a man?" She frowned; she hated it when Norge got in one of these contrary moods.
sighs, not wanting to have to explain this again. "Because I've always been one."
her brow twitching. "You have not."
nods. "Ja, I have. I'm not the Norge that you are used to."
"I've never heard *that* before." She said sarcastically. It was frustrating, but at least she'd found Norge, so she was relieved.
sighs, annoyed. "I'm the male version of your sister and you are the female version of my brother."
"Yeah… right." She scoffed, clearly not believing him. "Did Denmark drag you in to one of her 'make Iceland look like an idiot' schemes?"
shakes his head. "Nei, but she did believe me faster than you."
"Wave a cute boy and alcohol in front of her and she'll believe anything."
can't help but smirk at that. "Ja, but it was before the alcohol even."
"Maybe for you… I doubt she knows what 'sober' is."
makes what passes as a laugh. "Her male version isn't much different."
growls in frustration and kicks her feet in the fluffy snow, sending it flying around her.
rolls his eyes, wishing that she was less stubborn. "Stop it, Ice, you're just embarrassing yourself."
scowls at him. "I'm not going to fall for your stupid tricks, so give up."
sighs. "Fine, don't believe me but I'm not your sister."
"Then where is she?" She frowned, slowly starting to believe him.
"Then how did you know about her? How do you know who I am?"
glances over at her. "Anya told me that every country has a counterpart and I met the female Denmark, so I believe her." He paused. "And I_
would know my sibling anywhere." He smirked faintly.
"... Counterpart?" She asked incredulously. This sounded extremely suspicious.
"Since when?" She folded her arms over her chest with a frown.
"So… You're not my sister, but some alternate dimension male version of her?"
"Do you expect me to believe that aliens exist too? Maybe they've already invaded and we're all mindless zombies."
glances over at her. "Ja... there's one in your head right now that's going to come bursting out if you don't believe me."
"What?!" She reached up to her head instinctively before scowling at him. Jerk.
smiles and laughs faintly. "Just like my brother."
glowers. "Fine, but why are you here?"
"Planet earth? Well I thought I would start by taking things over before I eat everyone's brains." He keeps a dead pan expression.
"Why'd you have to take Denmark's brain first then?"
shrugs. "He was the first to be stupid enough to let me."
blinks before realizing. "She, then."
"What's… male me like?" She asked slowly, curious. "Is he as good looking as I am? Does everyone love him, too?"
"Well he doesn't talk about himself as much." Subtlety be damned.
"I don't talk about myself that much." She glared at him.
nods. "I'm sure you don't."
"I don't!" She protested angrily.
threw herself back in to the snow with a cry of frustration. He was trying to get a rise out of her, but she wouldn't grant him the
already getting the satisfaction and smirks faintly.
"Stop smirking at me." She demanded without looking at him. He was just like her Norge… only stupider.
laughs a bit. "You should probably call me bror... that might get me to stop smirking." He had to test this....
can feel her face turning red with rage at the suggestion. "Nei. Smirk all you want."
keeps smirking. "You sure? Only one little word and I'll stop."
"I don't care." She dug her bare hands in to the cold snow.
sighs. "But your counterpart calls me bror all of the time..."
"No he doesn't." If he did, he was obviously not her counterpart.
had a feeling she wouldn't fall for that. "How would you know?"
"Icelanders are proud, and strong. We don't need a big brother." She said firmly while making a small snow ball in the shape of a puffin.
"There's plenty of strong people who have big brothers."
can't help but feel hurt, standing up and starting to walk away.
"Hey! You're going to just leave me here alone?!" She cried out after him. How rude!
"You said you didn't need a brother... so I'm going." He wasn't planning on leaving her alone, but he was a little upset.
huffed indignantly."You're more sensitive than my sister."
stops and turns back to glance at her. "What did you just say?"
stands up and dusts herself off. "You heard me."
smirks a little. "You called her sister."
"So?" She didn't understand what that had to do with anything.
"Your counterpart never calls me bror."
"I'd never call you 'bror' either."
sighs. "But you just called my counterpart sister."
"So?" She flushed. "That doesn't mean anything."
smirks. "She would be very happy if she knew."
"She wouldn't care." She said, flustered.
hums a little and starts walking to his house.
follows after him at a distance, glaring at his back.
finds this all quite amusing, glad that she seems to be following him.
debates leaving, but she didn't like being alone so she continued to stalk after him.
glances back at her. "Hungry?"
watched him warily for a moment. For all she knew, he really was an alien impersonating Norge… but she was hungry. "I don't need your food."
walks quicker so that she could catch up to him.
smiles faintly at this and walks up to his house, holding the door open for her.
frowned at him, but walks inside. She looked around curiously, the house looked oddly like *her* Norge's.
walks over to the kitchen. "What do you want to eat?"
"Whatever." She scoffed. If it here *her* Norge she probably would have helped herself, but she did have some decency.
rolls his eyes and starts to dig around the pantry.
looked around his house curiously, inspecting it as though looking for dirt or any sign that he wasn't who he claimed.
sets about cooking something, glancing over at her occasionally.
"What's your name?" She asked, trying not to look at him as she snooped around his kitchen.
"Thora." She said quietly while leaning down to look at a photograph of who she suspected was her other self.
smiles faintly when she sees the photo. "That's my little bror."
"He doesn't look little." She wasn't sure why, but she felt an odd need to stand up for her 'counterpart'. What was this guy's obsession
hums. "Well he is littler than me."
"A lot of people are smaller than you." She scoffed. Just because she and her other self were apparently both short meant nothing.
nods. "And that makes him my little bror."
put the picture back down and scowled; that made it sound so degrading. "My Norway is nicer than you."
puts something in the oven. "I'm sure."
"How do I know you're not just lying about being Norway?" She frowned while sitting at the table.
shrugs. "I have no reason to lie about that kind of thing."
"You would if you wanted to kill me."
"I would have killed you already if I were going to."
"Where's your Nisse?" She asked critically.
glances around. "That's a good question, actually..." He spots the troll, Knut peeking cautiously into the kitchen. "But Knut's over there."
looked at the troll and sighed defeatedly. If he had the troll then he must have been telling the truth. "Oh."
Knut waves at her a little and walks in.
"He didn't eat my sister, did he?" She demand, her worry for her sister returning.
rolls his eyes. "Nei." Knut frowns, looking upset at the accusation.
"Good." She frowns while folding her arms over her chest and looking at Knut. "Do you know where she is?"
Knut shakes his head and shrugs before opening the fridge and looking inside.
sighs, having expected as much.
pulls a tray out of the oven and sets it on the counter to cool.
looked at the tray curiously.
stands in the way. "I thought you said you weren't hungry?"
pouts, but frowns. "I'm not." She answers stubbornly.
hums. "Fine, then I suppose you don't want any of this food..."
shrugs. "You're not hungry."
turns and looks in the other direction.
turns his back to her and eats something off the tray.
grumbles under her breath and leans back on her chair in frustration.
offers a bit of it to Knut who takes it and eats happily.
pouts a bit more obviously and accidentally falls back on to the ground in her tilted chair. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
glances over and raises an eyebrow. "Are you okay?"
"Of course I'm fine!" She huffed, standing up and smoothing her skirt out. Stupid chair.
sighs. "Are you sure you don't want any food?"
approached the stove cautiously; it smelled really good… but she didn't want to seem too eager to eat it. "I guess I could try it."
smirks faintly and puts some on a dish, offering it to her.
takes it cautiously and sniffs at it as though it were poisonous.
rolls his eyes. "You already saw me eat some."
doubted anything would actually poison her anyway after all of the food she'd tried at home… but she didn't want to seem to excited. She
took a small bite. "It's not horrible."
nods. "Do you really think I would make something horrible?"
shrugged, and ate the rest of the food on her plate.
watches, glad that she seemed to like it.
finished her plate. "Thanks."
hums. "For being not hungry you sure ate that quickly."
narrowed her eyes at him. "I wasn't hungry…"
nods. "Sure you weren't."
"I wasn't." She countered, setting her plate in the sink.
above fighting over it, so she approaches Knut. "Can he do any cool tricks?"
laughs faintly and Knut blinks at her and gives a small shrug.
"Norge used to have her troll spin Soraya around when she got drunk, then we'd convince her that the troll wasn't there and she'd had too
much to drink." She said with a grin at the memory.
smirks. "That does sound interesting." Knut laughed, a very gravelly noise.
"Is your Denmark a bothersome, obnoxious drunk, too?" She asked, unable to imagine Denmark as anything *but* that.
nods. "I think that would be a very apt description."
"So…" She began, awkwardly playing with a strand of hair. She hated looking so vulnerable in front of strangers. "Is this… your world then?"
shrugs. "I don't know. I assume so since I've been here my whole life."
had wondered why the clothes in her room didn't have any pants, but she'd assumed it was Norge's idea of a joke. She frowned "Oh… Some big
brother you are. I bet *my* Norge would know."
smirks. "You just called me brother."
"Congratulations, you can hear properly." She said sardonically.
rolls his eyes and starts to put the extra food away.
peeks her head out of the kitchen and down the hall, surprised by how close it was to her Norway's.
washes her dish reluctantly, sorely tempted to make her wash her own.
glanced over her shoulder at Lukas as she debated whether or not to investigate the house more. If it were Norge she wouldn't have hesitated
but she didn't know this Norge, and she wasn't *that* rude.
finishes washing up and glances over at her, wondering what she was doing.
settled on petting Knut's hair instead. He was just like the other troll… it was… strange.
Knut is surprised by the gesture but smiles widely at her,
"Your brother's gonna get upset with me." She admitted with a smirk, continuing to play with Knut's hair.
raises an eyebrow. "And why is that?"
"I don't like wearing pants very much…" She said, feeling sheepish about ruining most of his pants by turning them in to skirts.
frowns. "Why would he be upset about that?"
"How was I supposed to know that I was in his house? It looked just like mine!"
stares. "Did... did you get rid of his clothes?"
"N- Not exactly…" She scoffed. "I just made them more feminine."
'hmph's and sits on the ground besides Knut in frustration. She just wanted to be back in 'her' dimension, world, whatever it was.
watches. "Don't worry, I doubt he'll even notice the difference."
snickered to herself, imagining her male self coming home to find the skirts and dresses that were once respectable clothing.
can't wait to see his reaction, might just sneak in to see it.
"So there's one of everyone?" She asked, glancing at him with a frown; it was a bit hard to believe that an alternate universe really had
nods. "As far as I know."
sighed. It felt so strange. "And you're sure it's not a joke?"
"Great… *Two* Denmarks to deal with." She grumbled under her breath.
laughs faintly. "I haven't seen the male Denmark recently."
shivered at the thought of a *male* Denmark. The Female one was bad enough. "What's Sweden like? Or Finland…"
shrugs a little. "Sweden's tall and intimidating... Finland's... really talkative..."
"Ah…" she nodded. Not too different she supposed.
tilts his head. "Why, what are they like for you?"
"Same I guess." She shrugged.
nods. "Denmark and Russia both seemed the same."
"Have you met any of the others?"
had the urge to pent herself up on her-- or rather, her counterpart's-- house to avoid everyone else. This was like a horror movie, and it
always the short cute girls that got killed first.
tilts his head. "You look worried."
scowled defensively. "I'm not worried, it's just weird!"
smirks. "It's obvious you are."
nods, his smirk widening.
folds her arms over her chest, but due to the fact that she was sitting on the floor it ended up making her look even more like a stubborn
smiles. "Well if you are scared, you are free to stay here."
debated it for a minute, glancing from him to the troll. Staying with a stranger was never a good idea… but then she wouldn't have to cook
for herself, and if Norway showed up she would undoubtedly come here first. "Fine, but only because it's boring in your brothers house."
blinks a little in surprise. "My brothers house is your house."
frowns. "No it's not… and I don't know all of his people here… it's *boring*."
rolls his eyes. "The only things that changed are us."
"It's *different*." She whined with a frown.
stares at her, having no sympathy. "You didn't even notice until I told you."
"I thought it was Denmark playing a joke." She grumbled. "She *always* pulls stuff like this to make me look like an idiot."
sighs. "Well it's not a joke and complaining won't fix it."
"I wasn't complaining." She stared at him in frustration. He was more infuriating than her Norway.
nods. "I'm sure you weren't..."
stands up and dusts her skirt off. "Fine. I'm going... back to Iceland." She said, not even sure if she could call it 'home' since it wasn't
raises an eyebrow. "You sure?"
shrugged. "Don't need to impose on you. I'll just go home and wait for... myself to get there."
hums. "It's not imposing."
"Do you *want* me here?" She asked, folding her arms under her chest.
doesn't want to answer that. "I am just saying that I wouldn't mind."
"Is that a yes or a no?" She asked with a frown, wanting a straight answer.
won't give her one. "Are you staying or not?"
"If you don't want me to, I'll just leave." She shrugged, turning away. If he wasn't going to say that he wanted her there then she'd leave.
"Why wouldn't I want my little sister to stay?"
"You tell me." She shrugged.
"I'm not going to make you stay."
"Do you want me to stay?"
"I won't stay if you don't want me to."
"I don't not want you to."
"So you want me to stay?" She tries not to smirk as she glances at him.
just stares at her blankly, still refusing to just say it.
stares back at him, waiting for a response.
"I'll take that as a yes." She gives in, knowing better than to wait; they could have stared like that for hours if he was anything like the
doesn't object to that. "So are you staying?"
"Fine. But only because you want me to… and because I like your troll."
keeps from smiling at that but Knut hugs Thora happily, squeezing.
grins at Knut and returns his hug, feeling only a little bit squished.
smiles a little, watching them. Knut lifts her off the ground in the hug.
tries not to laugh as she lifts her legs and holds tightly to the troll. She never would have admitted it to *her* Norway that she'd enjoyed
playing with her troll, but this Norway was practically a stranger.
Knut grins, happy to have someone to play with.
practically forgets that Lukas was there as she played on Knut.
keeps smiling as he watches, happy to see her act this way. Knut swung her around in a circle.
giggled loudly as she clung to him. "You shouldn't do this in the house!" She told Knut through her giggles; she didn't want to break
Knut was being fairly careful but does set her down, smiling.
disappointed, but hoped she had many chances to play with Knut in the future, preferably without someone else watching. Her cheeks flushed
in embarrassment when she realized that Lukas was still there; she must have looked so immature.
grins. He had sorely missed seeing his brother so playful and even though she wasn't his brother, it was close enough for him.
scowls at him and stands behind Knut as though he would protect her from his condescending grin.
Knut laughs at this and slides her out from behind him.
glares at the troll. Traitor.
Knut just wanted everyone to get along.
folded her arms over her chest. "You'd better not tell my sister about this…" She would never live it down.
"I'll not tell a soul." He would totally tell her if he met her.
didn't believe him for a minute. "If you tell her, I'll…" She furrowed her brows while trying to think of a suitable threat. "I'll never
call either of you my siblings. And I'll make sure the other Iceland doesn't either."
"I won't then." Still will. Nothing she could say would make him keep the secret.
believed him… but the minute she saw her sister snickering at her she would know… and he would have hell to pay.
smiles faintly. "You can stay in the guest room if you want."
"Fine." She nodded. "I'll need pajamas, and a heated blanket."
"Well it will have to be men's pajamas..."
stared at him for a minute. "You mean you don't keep women's pajamas at hand?"
stares at her. "No, I'm not a woman and don't have enough women over to warrant owning a pair." B |
"Because the only people who visit me are my brother and Denmark and they aren't women." B |
"Why don't you invite women over?" :3
rolls his eyes and starts off into the hall, ignoring that question.
"Do you like men then?" She follows after him, determined to annoy him.
flushes at the question and decides to ignore it, opening a closet in the hall and pulling out a heated blanket.
catches the flush and grins broadly. "Is that a yes?"
passes her the blanket and keeps his face straight. "So are you fine with mens pajamas?"
"Why don't you answer any of my questions?" She pouted, holding the blanket to her chest as she stared at him.
"Because you aren't answering any of mine. There. I answered one."
"*Broo-ther*" She said, giving him the most pathetic expression she could muster up.
smirks a little. "If you answer my questions I might be more willing to answer yours."
frowned. "What questions did you have?"
rolls his eyes. "Are you okay with mens pajamas?"
"Yes." She rolled her eyes. It wasn't as though there was *that* big of a difference.
"Good." He starts to walk to his own room.
follows closely behind him like a puppy.
walks in and opens a drawer of his dresser, passing her a pair of pajamas. "There."
"Well?" She blinks a few times, watching him expectantly.
glances over at her. "Well what?"
flops on to his bed. "Are you gonna answer my questions?"
sighs. "If it will get you to stop asking them, yes."
technically, she wouldn't ask him the same question over-and-over if he'd already answered… she'd find new ones. "So you like men then?"
lets the faintest hint of embarrassment show. This was not a topic he particularly wanted to get into with a near stranger, even if she was_
like his brother. "I don't necessarily like them, I just don't mind them."
"You don't mind them… more than girls?" She tried not to grin as she clutched the blankets to her chest. Her Norge would have *killed* her
for asking this type of question.
would probably kill her if he knew her better. "I wouldn't say that." It had been longer than he cared to admit since he had seen anyone.
"So you have no preference?" She quirked an eyebrow. If Lukas felt one way, then surely her sister must feel the same. This plan was
shrugs. "I guess not. I'm not really attracted to anyone."
groaned. That wasn't what she wanted to hear. "Not even a little bit? What about Denmark? Or Sweden? Or Germany? Or maybe the Netherlands?"
raises an eyebrow. "Why do you look disappointed?"
stares at her. "I barely get along with Sweden so I would definitely never be attracted to him, Germany seems too serious and the_
Netherlands hates any men that get near him and I simply don't have the patience to deal with that. And Denmark... is an idiot." B | _
It was one of his rare talkative moments.
"Denmark is an idiot…" She agreed. "But do you like.. him?" She had almost said her, but had to remind herself that they were men.
keeps staring at her. "I already told you the answer to that question."
"No, you said he was an idiot." She frowned. "Some people like idiots."
thought he was being pretty straight forward. "I'm not telling you again, so stop asking that one."
decided to take that as a 'no' and felt triumphant. If he didn't like Denmark, then surely her sister didn't either! "What about...
Hungary? Or… Belarus?" She was trying to think of someone that would be a woman in his world.
"I don't know Hungary that well and Belarus is too fixated on her brother and as I already stated, I don't have the patience for that."
"What's wrong with liking ones brother?" She asked darkly.
blinks, wondering if he hit a nerve. "Nothing. As long as it isn't obsessive."
"Tearing down doors and stalking, begging to be married."
"..." Alright, that was a little creepy. She definitely was not that bad. She just had a healthy appreciation for her sister, that was all.
raises an eyebrow. "Why did you ask?"
"Just wondering." She shrugged. She was trying to think of more questions to annoy him with, but her mind was running blank.
smirks. "Do you like your sister?"
"Of course I do! She's my sister." She said firmly, determined not to flush at the question.
nods. "But do you like her more than that?"
had no hope of fighting the flush at that. "Are you a pervert?! She's my *sister*!"
keeps nodding. "I thought we just agreed that there was nothing wrong with that."
"I... No!... I... Just... No!" She said, flustered by the question. She admired her sister, yes, but… she didn't think of her like *that*,
Soraya would never let her live it down!
blinks. "Sorry, I just assumed."
"What?" He *assumed* that she liked her sister?? Was that the kind of relationship he and his brother had? "Does your brother like *you*?"
frowns. "I don't know that, you'd have to ask him. I simply assumed that you asking what was wrong with liking a sibling meant that you_
"I didn't mean like *that*."
"You should be." She said, still flushed from the question as she laid back on his bed. "But you don't like Denmark? Even a little bit?" She
"I said I already answered the question and wouldn't answer it again."
sighs. "So I take it that you are taking my bed?"
"No." She sat back up. She was just enjoying a more chatty Norway. Her sister never talked with her like this. "I was enjoying listening
to you talk…" She flushed once she said it. "I mean… I just… My sister doesn't talk this much, and talking to Denmark is… well… you know…"
looks away, not being this chatty normally. "Well, I'm done."
frowned, but didn't feel too disappointed since she had kind of expecting it. "You should talk more."
raises an eyebrow. "Why?"
shrugged. "You have a nice voice… Better than Denmark's, and she never shuts up."
felt awkward now, so she figured it would be a good time to go to her own room before she said anything stupid. "Where's my room?"
blinks and walks back out into the hallway.
follows him silently, her eyes looking over everything that they passed.
opens a door to a bedroom down the hall. "Here."
"Takk fyrir." She nodded her head and walked in past him. It wasn't large, but she expected no more from Norway.
Lukas
thinks 13 years ago
it's nice even it is small. "Anything else?"
"Are you going to stand there and watch me change?" She smirked up at him as she set the blanket and pj's on the bed.
shakes his head. "Nei, I'm asking if you need anything else."
shook her head. "I'm fine." She would wake him up in the middle of the night if she thought of anything she needed… or got bored.
might not be all that happy if she does. "Okay. Night."
"Night." She sighed, looking back over the room. As much as she loved Norway, and loved being here, it wasn't as nice as home.
walks out and shuts the door behind him.
changes in to the pajamas quickly. She lifted a sleeve up and laughed as the ends dangled over the tip of her fingers.
hears her laugh and pauses in the hall before walking back to his room.
crawls in to the bed and sighs before willing herself to fall asleep.
