thought mosaik

melted crayons on the back of an old sketchpad, mounted to a piece of cardboard. sharpied, metallic and pearlescent acrylic paints...

and lacquered to seal in all that stinky goodness..

how did you melt craons??? wondering if it's something i could do with kiddies.

I just used a hotplate and some soup cans. but I can imagine a bunch of other ways to do it. the problem is, unless you mix it with some

kind of binder..it will melt off the surface the first time it's left in the sun

I'll post some pics later of my first experiment with melted crayons...and what it looks like today because I left it in the sun...

the fun thing about it is, everyone has broken crayons they want to get rid of.

and you can mix it with beeswax and stuff to change the consistency
