chris - with nested conversations, I find Plurk easier to communicate. (Think what GMail did for email).

how you know someone has replied without scrolling back and forth to see if numbers have updated?

Chris G is right, but likes it better on Plurk. more conversations.

with updates you get a link to just show replies in the bottom left corner of the timeline window...

look in the bottom left - it tells you

The alerts in the lower left corner of the time line make it easier to follow

I'm not used to Plurk yet, but the responses alert in the bottom left does help keep me in the conversation. I like it.

trust me - it will get annoying after a while too - it tells you about ANY replies

once you get used to the Plurk interface it is easier to follow than Twitter.

It doesn't seem to take you right to the replies though?

still think the timeline version of it sucks - sorry those that love it

when you click on view replies or new, it clears everything from timeline but new replied or new plurks.

there is room for improvement in tracking, but I do like the drop-down convo boxes.

Chris, if you click view on the updates it brings them all to the fore.

I've been picking one person at a time (profile/lower right) to check for updates, then going to own profile to do same: time-consuming...

... but at least finding (most of ) the conversations I'm trying to follow. Too time-consuming? Probably. Seeking better option.

plurk needs desktop apps/mashups to show them a better UI solution

chrisgarrett I do not agree, it is much easier to follow a conversation because of the thread here... when I go back to twitter, the....

... only way to read a conversation is backwards.. or going back a few pages and try to catch up, but you do not know how far to go back...

and they do not have these to bring some fun & laughter
