to kidnap the Holy Roman Empire for a few moments. He needed to persuade the little nation to come to his side. His ears perked as he heard
little huffs alongside his carriage. Shouting for the driver to stop, Gilbert steps out and spies the boy he was just looking for, training

practices the art of war on his own, since he is better at sword-fighting than Roderich already... the only one he could spar with - Hungary
- was currently busy with something else, or so she had told him with a giggle. He frowned as he kept hitting a nearby tree. The sword was
old and heavy, but he had no problems holding it and on top of that, the weight felt good in his hands.
slunk into the trees, watching the little boy practice his sword mastery. Oh course he's training on his own! Roddy couldn't wield for his
life! This is exactly why he needed to gain guardianship of the boy, to make him his protege. Leaning against the truck of a tree, he
continued to watch as the child grew weary.
muscles playing under his skin as he lifts the sword over his head, letting it crash down into thin air.
couldn't help but shout, "Oi! Shrimp! You're not holding it right!" as the little blond sliced the air.
stumbles and his grip on the sword falters and it's pulling him to the ground, suddenly too heavy for him. "Preußen!" he cries out, pouting
at the older nation as he tries to pick up the sword again. "What are you doing here?"
snorts, walking over to the boy. "Apparently I need to teach you how to fight." He easily lifts the sword up, tossing it from hand to hand.
"This, shrimpy, is far too heavy for you."
frowns. "it's not." even though he admitted that he couldn't throw it around like the other.
smirked arrogantly. "Uh huh," he replied sarcastically, holding out the handle for the other to grab. "How about you try swinging it again?
Oh, and try not to move your feet."

frowns at the hilt and decides that he should do it like the Albino, and attempts to take it with one hand. He is certainly strong enough to
hold it, so with the right footing it should be okay. Carefully he bends his knees slightly so that the weight is concentrated on his feet
and his knees are not burdened so much. Highly concentrated he takes the hilt and swings it again.
(( and you guys. It wasn't Nii-san. ))

bit his lip in order not to burst out into hysterics. The little nation had to brace himself just to hold the sword! "Ok, what you need is a
swift, light weight sword." He unsheathes his own, swinging it agilely both his head.
((...the both is supposed to be *above /shot))
frowns at the lighter sword and snorts. "Lighter swords are for pansies."
"Says the pansy how can't hold his own sword" He tapped the other's sword lightly.
((Says the gentleman who is shown up by *Hungary* in swordsmanship))
"I do not have my own sword," he says, pouting. "I had to steal this from one of these empty armors in the hallway," he pouts.

raised his eyebrow in disbelief. "Roddy...didn't get you a sword. Seriously?"
(( not really, but it's kind ruining the seriousness. xD ))
bites his lip and looks away defiantly. "He says science is more becoming of me."
snorted. "Science? Science is for losers who can't defend themselves. Here, try this," offers him to use his sword. "Swing it around a bit
and see how you like it."
takes the others sword which is a lot lighter than his own, but something tells him that it's even a little more lethal. He swings it around
testing it, just to let it swing down close to the other's ear, cutting off some hairs as he stops about a centimeter above his shoulder.
smirked, seeing the little blond nearly dismember him. "And how are you liking it?"
"It's good. I bet it's great in battle situations," he admits, turning the sword around, trying not to show how impressed he was that
Gilbert had not reacted at all to his assault. "But for practicing matters the other is better. It's better to use a heavy sword to train
than to fight, or something like that."
"tsk tsk tsk, looks like you have much to learn, boy" He lent down to pick up the other sword and swiftly sliced the air centimeters from
the younger's head. "It is skill which makes you a swordsman, not your sword. The sword is only a tool which you use to amplify your skill."
"But if you can't lift the sword, it doesn't matter how good your skill is," Ludwig bits back quickly, trying to cover up the fact that his
heart was beating loudly from the almost threat.
"Ah, so you admit you can't lift this sword" Gilbert's eyes brightened in amusement.
"I couldn't. But now I can," he says, not without turning a little red.
grinned, taking a step back and using his sword to tap the others. "Let's see what you've learned."
(( does he mean his-his or the one he was currently holding? ))
raises his eyebrows, but deems himself at advantage with the lighter sword. He takes a defensive stance and eyes the other one closely,
expecting the fight to start any second.
internally cackled, eyes flashing gleefully. Let's see what the brat's got. He managed to slice the air shrilly, the sword's tip resting
against the younger's collarbone before they could even blink.
blinks after that, then his eyes narrow, hearting beating faster with the thrill of adrenaline rushing through his veins and raises his
sword as he takes a step back, pushing the other's sword away. In the same movement, he takes the step forward again, to get closer while
he lets the sword slash down again, quickly, aiming right for the other's head.
inwardly chuckled, as to not irritate the younger further. He easily stepped out of the way and lurches forward a bit, angling the tip of
the sword to catch onto the handle wrappings. With a smooth flick of his wrist, Gilbert swiftly disarms the younger steps closer to hold the
edge of the blade against his throat. "Checkmate"
his eye twitching, chin high up in the air so the tip won't pierce him. "Damn you."
grins, lowering the weapon. "Your stance is wrong, the right foot does in front so you can fall into a defensive stance faster." he lazily
states, demonstrating for the little blond.
frowns. "Really?" He watches it closely and copies the move dry before he takes up his sword again. "Let's try again."
[[why am I so fan girling every single line of it...but but but family love is so cute >.<]]
"Ok, when I lunge forward, I want you to switch to defense and push back." He instructs, getting into position.
nods slowly, raising his sword again.
stepped forward quickly and softly stabbed the air in front of the younger nation.
steps back just as instructed and pushes back just immediately.
"Good, know I'm going to spin around and strike your left. Block accordingly" he instructed moments before turning.
swings the sword accordingly, blocking the assault. He then steps back, turning around to counterattack with his momentum.
quickly shields himself and pushes back. "Very good" he praises the blond, patting his head.
frowns, using the moment that the older is patting him to point the sword at his throat.
chuckles, tapping the point with his chin. "Good thing you never let your guard down" nodding his head to his left, where he sword is
directed to the lad's torso.
"I saw that," he smirks, unmoving. "I'm out of reach for it faster than you can react."
smirked, eyes shining with arrogance. "Well well, is that a challenge?"
raises his chin with the same arrogance. "I'd call it a warning."
internally remarked, 'gets that after me, he does'. "Oh really now? Let's see if you're all talk." He quickly steps backwards and crouches
into an offensive stance.
swings his sword, eyes carefully fixed on the other to defend himself, but attacks nevertheless.
Their swords clash as he pushes forward, forcing the smaller to step back.
stands his ground, eyes filled with dtermination.
grins, adding more pressure.
eyes narrow and he gathers the rest of his power relax for a moment, just to push back with all of his power.
took a step back, allowing him to slide his sword against the younger's. Sparks flew from the friction as he began tilting his sword to
narrows his eyes, wondering what he plans to do, but decides to attack before he can do anything. He lets the sword drop to the ground,
following that push to the left, just to attack back from *his* left side.
chuckled, eyes flashing. Gathering a portion of his strength, he blocks the hit, the clanging of metal against metal filling the silence.
growls, trying again to read the other'S movements again just attacking carefully.
fake dodges right before swinging around to his left, striking the boy's leg with the flat part of the sword. "Watch your leg
movement, always be nimble and swift."
avoids the sword and twirls around, holding out the sword so that it barely misses the other's throat. "I think I improved some."
"Some is not enough," knocking the sword out of the boy's hand with a flick of his wrist. "Looks like I'll have to talk to Roddy
"Seems like you have to," he says, defeated, but not admitting that he has lost yet. "You play mighty unfair."
laughs obnoxiously. "Well I suppose it *is* quite unfair for you to be fighting against the awesome almighty Prussia"
"Almighty?" he asks, snorting a little. "Then why did you have to bow to France so easily not so long ago?"
narrows his eyes. "That, is a long and strange story which my awesomeness does not wish to speak about at the moment."
"And what about Austria? If you're so awesome, why do you stop fighting with him every time he's winning, declaring yourself as the victor?"
sighs, dreading the wave of nostalgia that he knew was to come. "My fights with Roddy are...personal"
"He has never mentioned any of *that*," Ludwig says, still pouting over his unfair loss.
bends down to recover his sword "Of course he hasn't..." he mumbles, re-sheathing it.
crosses his arms over his chest. "Then tell me, what do /I/ have to do with your petty fight?"
flare at the memory. "Your existence, Ludwig, is the basis of this entire war"
"So what? I can survive well without the two of you."
snorts, "can you really?" gesturing to his sword with arrogance.
bites his lip. "...Eventually."
"Well, until eventually comes, someone needs to keep an eye on you and it certainly is *not* Roddy"
"And what if I don't want to come with you?" he asks, picking up his own sword, already missing the lighter one already.
's glanced down at him sadly. "Would you rather stay here and leave your skills neglected with Roderich or come with me and make a name of
yourself. Become a great nation, perhaps one of the greatest in history?"
"...you'Re just saying that because you can't make it alone."
"Am I?" looking down at Ludwig. "My nation has won countless wars, in the past and will continue to thrive.
My reason for pursuing you is because Roddy doesn't see how strong of a nation you can grow up to be."
"Roderich ruled over most of Europe once," Ludwig points out, "controlling everything important that went on."
"Yes he's ruled this country and that," he rolled his eyes, "but he doesn't see the potential in *you*.
If he doesn't train you at a young age, you won't be able to survive."
"...I am not the Holy Roman Empire of German Nations," he says, eyes narrowing.
"Oh, I know that. Did you think I confused the both of you this entire time?"
"No, I mean, I will not exists for I don't know how long and never grow up. Look at me, I'm almost as tall as you are and soon...soon I will
be bigger than you ever were."
smiles sadly, "And I hope you will be. I also hope you'll know when to quit. When enough is enough"
sighs, seating himself on a large, conveniently placed rock. "There will be a point in time where a greed for land will consume you.
Everyone goes through it. You just need to know that you *must* stop when it gets out of hand, or else..." he looks away.
"What else. You don't look like you ever held back."
looks straight at him with an intense stare. "Or else your nation will die"
"...You're being overly dramatic," he says.
snorts. "Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. Just depends on your capacity of strength. Many empires have died thanks to too much power"
"Then what do you know? You're still here and you're not stopping your conquering either," he says.
"Ha! Tell me about it" he laughed, not wanting the tell the younger that he was already slowly deteriorating.
raises his chin defiantly.
sighs warily. "I'm just warning you kid, from one nation to another. Just...be careful"
"Oh, and remember to talk to Roddy about getting you a better sword. That thing looks like it'll shatter in battle."
raises his chin. "Let me worry about that."
chuckled, slipping off the rock. "Will do, will do." He began stretching his arms. "So, how long were you out here before I came?"
"Huh, and how often do you train?"
"Every day," he mumbles. "Whenever I have some hours off from studying."
grins. "Well that's good. And it's usually just by yourself?"
"Hm, seems like we need to fix that. Training on your own only goes so far" he hums thoughtfully.
"Well, everything will come in time it seems" he nodded to himself. "Do you have a battle uniform?"
"...yes, this," he says, pointing to the black jacket, the red pants, both with golden buttons.
"Hm", he looks him over. "It'll do I suppose. What exactly do you do under Roddy's care?"
"What I... well, basically I just study. Science, languages, arts..."
"....study" he deadpans, staring at Ludwig in disbelief.
looks back at him, unmoved. "Yes, study." He thinks it should be clear if he has to practice fighting alone.
shakes his head and barks a laugh. "Ah, Roddy really is going downhill" he muses. "So Ludwig, I'm about to make you the ultimate offer."
raises on eyebrow, not really convinced.
"Stay here, with Roddy, and be buried in your piles and piles of books or come with me, and learn how to become a real nation,
tempted. "And... why don't you do that yourself?"
"A true empire? Well, my time as a nation is growing dim." He chuckled bashfully. "Seems I'm a bit too old for it nowadays.
But not you Ludwig. Far from it! You're practically an infant compared to other nations these days!"
"You're growing old? You're on the height of your power, nothing can stop you," he says. "Like... almost like an explosion!"
"Heh, explosion you say" musing at the younger's choice of words. "One gets wiser as he grows older. I have my secrets as do you yours.
Even at the height of power, I have a few secrets no one knows of, and will never discover until I reach my grave. But in any case, my offer
"...what do I have to do?"
grins, "Become my Bruder. Come like with me in my estate and leave Roddy's. I'll train you until you can be as awesome as me"
"Your... I cannot do it like that," he says, shaking his head. "Even... even if I want it."
approached him, "...and why not? Who's stopping you Ludwig?"
"I cannot just throw away everything that Austria did for me."
sighed, running his fingers through his hair. "Don't you think, in turn for leaving him, becoming a strong nation
of your own would make him proud?"
"..." he can't really argue with that. "...I would look terribly ungrateful," he mumbles, kicking up some dirt.
"Ludwig" he forced the boy to look at him. "Be selfish for a moment. I know you're keeping Roddy in mind but, this is your future.
He has rule over your actions, but not your thoughts. You can't let him control everything all the time. Be selfish for once."
"I don't know..." he mumbles, worrying his lip.
placed his hand atop Ludwig's head. "It's your future, and you need to decide what's best for you and only you."
"..." blue eyes studying crimson ones, searching for a truth that he cannot see yet. "I don't know what to do."
genuinely smiled. "No one ever does. But here's a hint, follow your instincts, they can never lead you wrong."
"...I need time," he says truthfully. "I cannot decide something like that on a whim."
shrugged nonchalantly, "Understandable, just...don't take too much time" His ears perked as he heard the clacking of horse shoes
in the distance. "And that's my carriage. Need a ride back to Roddy's?"
shakes his head. "No thank you. I'll walk."
"Suit yourself" he whistled, watching the carriage wind around the corner. "But remember, it's your future. Your decision."
He patted the younger on the shoulder.
"I'll let you know... when I decided about it."
tipped his head to the other as the carriage neared. "Till then Ludwig, I'll be awaiting your reply." He mock saluted him before
walking back to the dirt path.
waves him off and picks up the sword properly again, sheathing it before he walks back through the forest to Austria's mansion.
(( Aaaah, I want to play with Austria now, but I'm too tired. argh. ))
