It depends on how you use them - I've seen some great lessons with a SMARTBoard, but also have seen it gather dust....

I second mtilley. It does comes down to pedagogy and true integration. If the teacher is only person truly using the board then it is

just a basic tool rather than an actual opportunity to have students become kinesthetic learners.

I agree. They can be a terrific learning tool if used appropriately
