greenlurker: Uh, because the evidence against him wasn't even solid. It's not legally just to keep him there for 20 years

I feel for the patriarch, who wouldn't? Especially if you have your entire family murdered.

It's unfair for him.
domz says

But it's also unfair to keep someone who is probably innocent.

so the question is, if it isn't Hubert, who killed them? Because, I can't imagine how horrible our legal system is for allowing the criminal

Point taken. Technically, he's considered innocent. One thing that bothers me is the loss of a specimen/vital evidence in the case.

Why does it have to happen now? I wonder if the justice system has been manipulated again...

the government should do all it takes to bring justice to the Vizconde family. :| After 20 years of your family's murder, how devasting it

I'm not saying for certain that he is innocent but from the lack of evidence, he's as good as.

There's a huge gap between morality and legality.

If he did in fact take part in the crime, then that is his own burden to carry.

Both sides lost on this one: Lauro Vizconde still hasn't found the killers, while Webb and Co. were jailed wrongly for a very long time.

I also wondered why Judge Tolentino was quick to dismiss the US documents. If those were forged, the US Embassy should have said something.
