oh they do. happy things just don't create revenue for the news outlets

that's very cynical, but probably true. She still cries most times she watches it tho.

that's why I don't watch the news anymore. I read my news online, so I can pick and choose my headlines. Less sad that way.

it may be cynical but unfortunately, people watch to be entertained/excited; sadness/madness gets people going

read a book once that argued against watching TV news because it upset you about things you had no way of changing.

it just makes me feel miserable, so I don't watch it very often. Watched it last night tho, & cried myself to sleep.

on the other hand i don't watch tv news because it is appallingly imbalanced these days. prefer newspapers myself.
