Aldosterone acts on its target tissues via the mineralocorticoid receptor. The problem is, this receptor is not specific for aldosterone.

Cortisol can bind to it just as easily as aldosterone can.

There is loads more cortisol in our bodies than aldosterone,

so why doesn't the cortisol swamp the receptor and give us permanent hypertension?

然後這是我看某篇RAAS文章內提到的～Major stimuli for aldosterone production include the release of

angiotensin II and corticotropin and elevated potassium levels

所以重點還是aldosterone

重點大概就是aldosterone～另外也因為cortisol也會跟mineralocorticoid receptor結合～所以有一些病例

雖然他aldosterone濃度不高～但是他一樣有hypertension的情況～我想可能是這樣
