I've decided it goes back to place value and the whole lack of number sense. Do I work on rounding or do I go back to square one?

I have 8th and 9th that can't round. Used to calculator doing everything so not have to think.

It's the same reason when I ask 6th graders what direction they think north is, they all point up. They don't see the use.

on the calculators, they ask someone who knows where the place is how many past the decimal, then write the numbers to that point without
