the 2010 Hugo Boss Prize goes to Hans-Peter Feldmann.

not very exciting
not that i don't like his work. guess part of the reason is that i've already been familiar with his work. it's not exciting,
but it certainly is a surprise, considering the past prizes typically went to rising stars.
Feldmann is a veteran in the art world. This recognition seems to be a little belated. i am not sure why he got ignored.
i was interested in his work and added him to my exam bibliography at one point,
but my adviser told me to take him off the list because he is not that important. i didn't understand,
but was happy to have one less artist to study.
A German corporate art award goes to a German artist. And it has to take place in a McDonaldized American museum in NYC.
It is indeed worth pondering upon the logic of how the art world works.
or perhaps it's just a nostalgia for the 1970s. The old is the new NEW.
