He hopes Niisan will not be as bad as America-san.
may or may not know what he's getting himself into as he sits down on the sofa. "Okay! Show me how you see 'scary'."
smirks slightly at the other man and puts the first movie in the DVD player.
sits down on the other side of the couch, his hands folded neatly in his lap.
"All right, Niisan." He mutters as the movie starts.
"Remember," he says with a smile as the opening credits play. "It's okay to get scared. Niisan is here."
((.../snorts -SHOT FOR STALKING-))
shakes his head slightly, stifling a mildly evil chuckle.
"That...will not be necessary..."
does pretty well for a while, but then again, so does the movie. He flinches at the first shock scene, but tries to act like it didn't
happen. This continues, though, at each "jump," until it becomes too much and he actually jumps and grabs Kiku's arm.
isn't sure what to do, and tries to gently tug his arm away, rolling his eyes good-naturedly.
"...are you all right, Niisan?" he asks, amused.
pulls his hand back to himself with a little pout, looking a little (perhaps comically) offended. "...I'm fine!" He turns back to the movie,
still looking a little affronted.
looks away, a little guilty. He closes his eyes for a moment, his face burning, before he turns back to the other.
"I...it's okay. I don't...really mind, Niisan..."
"I'm not *scared*, Kiku. It's just a movie." He is so not pouting man I don't know what you
continues watching the movie in silence.
turns away again, angrily this time.
scoots an entire cushion away from China.
"Of course it is...no one expected otherwise."
((PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE ADORABLENESS IS THE BEST KIND.))
watches the movie through narrowed eyes, until it starts..you know, getting scary again...
tries very hard to suppress any affect the movie is having on him but he's not so good at it...
still pouting in the proverbial corner, his arms folded angrily as he watches the movie.
, by the end of the movie, gripping onto the arm of the couch since SOMEONE WOULDN'T LET HIM GRIP THEIR ARM... e_e He would get up and
change the movie, but he must properly compose himself because now it's war, and he refuses to let Kiku know his movie was, indeed, scary.
slowly slides his gaze from the screen to Yao's face.
stares at him for a long moment, saying nothing, before he finally gets up and goes to change the movie.
passive-aggressively picks an even scarier movie for the next one, then goes to sit on the opposite end of the couch again, arms still
folded over his chest angrily, refusing to look hurt.
tries to man up and scoff the movie off, but... --oh god did that just--
GETS UP AND...LEAVES THE ROOM HALFWAY THROUGH THE MOVIE, CAUSE...HE THOUGHT OF IMPORTANT THINGS HE NEEDS TO BE DOING...YEAH...
jumps to his feet, a shocked expression on his face as he hurriedly pauses the movie and follows the other.
quickly runs in front of China, slamming his hand against the wall and effectively blocking his way.
He leans closer to the China's face. "What the HELL is your problem, Niisan!?" he hisses angrily.
"...do you really find me that despicable?"
flinches back, hard, and completely stiffens, his throat tightening as the color leaves his face. His expression is stone, though, as the
stands as his full height. It takes him a moment to speak, as he has to fully compose himself before he can attempt it. "...I have things to
grabs both his shoulders tightly.
his entire face goes slack for a moment before filling with anger once more.
"You ALWAYS have things to do! Just this ONCE why-!" He cuts himself off suddenly, all the anger suddenly draining from his pose.
He leans his forehead against China's shoulder, still holding his arms.
"...why can't you want to be with me?" He says in a voice that's barely audible.
stunned for a long moment. In silence, and very, very slowly, he lifts his arms around Kiku and rests his hands on his shoulders. He closes
his eyes and leans his cheek against Kiku's head, barely murmuring. "You know that's not true."
suppresses a shiver of...something and lets his arms fall to hang limply at his sides.
"....isn't it?" He mutters quietly, the sad tone of his voice muffled by the fabric on China's shoulder.
"Y-you can't even...watch a movie with me..."
slowly slides his eyes half-open, staring off at the wall as he lets out a long, quiet sigh. He doesn't know what he can say (short of an
apology, and he's not so good at that), and he wants to hold off on trying and tempting fate; moments like these are rare, all too rare
anymore, and he knows it won't last. As soon as he opens his mouth, it'll be gone.
his shoulders shake slightly with the effort of holding back the sob that suddenly wells up in his throat.
He knows that China can feel it, too, and his face burns in embarassment and shame.
does feel this, and just tightens his arms around Kiku, closing his eyes again.
manages to get some semblence of control on himself, and gently brings his hands up to the other man's chest...and pushes him away, breaking
His eyes, which are strangely wet, narrow into an angry glare.
"So, you just have nothing to say to that, then?"
He takes a slow step back, tilting his head so that he is looking down his nose at China, his face twisting into an ugly expression.
He slams his fist into the wall next to him for the second time that night, turns around, and begins to walk away.
flinches again, quickly shutting his eyes and sucking in a sharp breath, and only opens his eyes again when he hears footsteps receding.
"What could I say? If you want to be angry, Kiku, you will be angry. I learned that a long time ago."
stops as suddenly as he began, not turning around.
"...what I want?" He says, laughing bitterly. "In what way is this about what I WANT?" His voice rose to a yell.
Kiku whirls around but does not return, his small body shaking with rage.
"I-I just wanted us to spend time together, like we used to...WHY IS THAT SO DIFFICULT?" His voice quivers with anger and repressed tears
contorts his face into a warped, painful smile, and when he speaks, his voice is low and weak. "I'm trying. I want it, too, and that's why
I-- ...I really am trying."
gesticulates wildly towards the room they had just come from.
"You WOULDN'T even TOUCH me! You...you were as scared as the United States in there, and..."
sags against the wall tiredly, suddenly looking every year of his extremely long life.
"...I...I can't..." He swallows hard, and realizes too late that a tear is already falling. He turns his head around, refusing to meet
forces himself to smile more, pleading, almost, though the other isn't even looking at him. His voice goes even quieter, as if he's already
resigned himself that he can't reason with him. "...You don't like to be touched. You never have. I thought I was bothering you."
stands there, unmoving, his shoulders hunched defensively.
"...it's getting late, Niisan." He said softly.
just watches him for a long while, as if considering him, but he's already given up. "...Yeah."
looks straight into the other's eyes and says nothing.
lowers his head a little and slowly starts walking towards him because hey that's where he needs to go, passing close enough to brush his
arm against Kiku's. A "goodnight" can be faintly heard if you listen hard enough.
Kiku stifles a quiet sob that he knows they'll both pretend they didn't hear.
He waits until long after China's footsteps have faded away before he moves, slowly dragging himself himself past his old room on the way.
